Running too rich.

I installed a Taitiec exhaust system on my '91 NSX which has resulted in the car running extremely rich (black soot across the rear spoiler). I have not upgraded my airbox or filter.

Does anyone have suggestions on what the best way/product is to resolve this issue and wake my car back up?

You can try pulling the clock fuse to reset the ECU, or replace the O2 sensors. Are you getting a CEL? Black on the back of the car is not necessarly a problem, I see it on my car after being on the track

I am not sure what a cel is. when driving through town I get the black buildup on the rear spoiler. When I am on it the exhaust is black. The car has 40k miles on it.

I pulled the fuse.

Will test it later today. Should I have an aftermarket air cleaner to help it breath? If so which one do you recommend?

The stock air cleaner works very well, replacing it is unnecessary and will provide no benefit or fix your perceived problem.


Are you running cats or test pipes?

I noticed some straight pipes which could be used to bypass the cats.
