Funny thing in this video, Senna looks to be driving in his suit shoes, looks to me like 2000 dollar shoes from BOSS or something:) Nice PR stunt:)

Awesome video though. Any more Senna stuff?

Hi

I have a documentary about Senna, where he takes a burnout with a red/black NSX on the parkinglot. Just about 5 seconds where the NSX is shown.

I do not have it uploaded anywhere, but will see if I can get just that clip uploaded somewhere.

Regards

nice clip. That's part of suzuka... Love that track. Wish someday I can drive on it.

I am fascinated by the use of his right foot and the throttle during the thighter turns. Occasionally, an abrupt lift to induce trailing throttle oversteer then back on the throttle hard.

But I don't quite understand the rapid "tapping" of the throttle during tighter turns. Any thought on that technique??

i remember reading a while back in a C&D interview with jackie steward that all braking should be done at straight and you are on throttle at the turn and using the throttle to steer the car along with your steering wheel movement.

I think this clip is great to show us how Senna is able to balance the car using the throttle. It also shows how precise and effecient he is in braking.. there is practically no use of brake after initial turn in.

Did you notice the slight counter steering drift at the spoon corner area?

Just have to Say WOW

I remember that the the "patting" was discussed in some of the previous threads about that drive. Can not remember what we found out though.

Martin - It is helpful to compare this Schumacher video clip which shows telemetry of how he uses the throttle in turns. There's also a comment about Senna's use of the throttle in turns: off and on the throttle: tap-tap-tap-tap.....

I know Senna used this technique when driving turbo F1 cars (read that in his tribute book). He managed to stay on boost in turns by blipping/tapping the trottle. Maybe it became his driving style and used it to balance and steer NA cars. Don't think it would work in todays F1 cars though.

Hi guys,

That burnout in the parking lot, was recorded here in Portugal... thats one of the Senna NSXs, the red one...

Here we have a DVD of a tribute to him....i'll try to convert it to Divx and find a way of making available to you all... (i just need a host to that load of Mb)

You must copy (one or more) the files to your own computer. There are two small avi files (one of them is DiVX). One smal mpg file and one DiVX big file with the complete content of the DVD (second DVD of "The Official Tribute to Senna") on where you can find the NSX.

If you can't play the files, you probably miss the right DiVX codecs for your media-player. You can download them from any DiVX site.
