Service Needed? Price Reasonable?

I have a 95 NSX with 52k miles. It was in for a repair because a clip in the steering column came lose and was making a grinding noise. During that service, the dealer recommended that the following repairs be done in the near future:

Group one - replacing seals
a. Cam Shaft seals (they say there is a slight leak) - $5.69 each & 6 hrs
b. Valve cover gaskets - $20.69 & 1 hr
c. Spark Plug Seals - $18 (included in 1 hr above)
d. Oil pan gasket - $33.75 & 2 hrs
e. V-Tec Solenoid gasket $17.11 & 2 hrs
They will do all this work for a package price of $100 parts + $880 for labor (their labor rate is $80/hour), $980 total.

Group two - replace timing belt and drive belts
Price for timing belt (not sure if this is all the belts or just the timing) $160.37 & 8 hrs.
They will replace the belts for $674 total.

Group three - replace water pump
$335.31 for pump & 1 hr of labor.
They will do this for $299.

First, as nearly all of this is being done as preventative maintenance, is it reasonable to do this for a 8 year old car with 52k miles? Second, are the prices reasonable?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

FYI: The Acura dealer is in Miami.

Hi Richard L S,

To answer you questions directly:

1. Yes, it is reasonable to do this to an 8 year old car.

2. Yes, the pricing is reasonable too:)

My only comment is with 52K on the odometer I cannot imagine that your filters do not need replacing. air/fuel + oil change (unless this was taken care of at a previous time) and transmission service (oil change).

These items are part of the 60K service.

The work seems appropriate but the prices seem a little high. I think most of the timing belt labor is done when you do the cam seals. I had my cam seals replaced due to leaking and had the timing belt, water pump and valve cover gaskets done at the same time. The whole bill was about $1200. Are you being charged double labor for the timing belt etc?
