Sharing more of my expertise: Car Detailing [Moved from another thread]

Re: New Owner with Detailing Question

that's why I have my FB in hidden view as if I'm not even in existence.

I've heard too many stories to that effect.

linkedIN is the only way people can see me.... and I'm selective on who to accept...

Im not really to worried about it for now as for now my age is low and a possibility of me getting a job serious enough to require such a check of social networks pretty slim to none. I must add though that this has gotten quite off topic.

Re: New Owner with Detailing Question

He has at least listened to one piece of advice....

Damn, the info in the restart is largely different than the info originally provided by "young grasshopper". At your age, you'd learn a lot by listening instead of arguing. There are some tremendously generous (with their knowledge) members on this forum. People who will give of their time and expertise, with no expectations in return, treat them with respect, not BS and you might achieve some of your goals earlier than if you act like a "troll". My offer for a Shirley Temple still stands.

My information is vastly different. I left out alot of other irrelevant personal information.

Wwwooowwwww

" The NSX exterior had a dedicated 23-step paint process, including an aircraft type chromate coating designed for chemically protecting the aluminium bodywork and a waterborne paint for the base coat to achieve a clearer, more vivid top color and a smoother surface finish."

What happened to meaningful discussions about what was that car called again?!? Oh yeah,
NSX...:rolleyes

Re: New Owner with Detailing Question

I almost feel bad for the kid. Based upon his twitter use, he clearly feels the need to dumb himself down to fit in with his classmates and get street cred. However, it is also clear that he does have a brain and should be using it to get away from those holding him back. We have had other teens come on here and misrepresent who they are (one texas teen years ago is most notorious) and others who came on and admitted they were teens and actually participated here.

Had he just been himself early on instead of lying about virtually everything he probably wouldn't fall into the troll classification.

Lenny - when you read this, just think about "starting fresh". Although you are not as smart as you want us to believe, I don't believe you are as ignorant as you try to sound on twitter. You may want to hang with your current crowd but the better, albeit more difficult, thing to do is distance yourself from those who might hold you back and focus on your education (even if you don't really have those free rides to harvard and princeton).

I think your talking about me there :D. Came in at 14 and made a topic of what I want to do with my "future" NSX. All hell broke loose and at the time I was pretty certain most people here thought I was a troll which I wasn't. I stayed around for all these times and here I am an now an NSX owner as planned from the START. I think people here can be a**holes at times to new guys.

My advice: if you're really an NSX enthusiast, stay on the forums, just learn as much as you can from all the information that's shared on this forum, and just post when you really are indeed interested in discussing the topic and not just trying to show off with the post. The older guys as you seen are very harsh to young guys, especially if they think you're a troll, which you came off as one, with the way you presented yourself here.

Re: New Owner with Detailing Question

Google is for amateurs. Check out some of my prior "efforts" on behalf of members here who needed to uncover frauds.........

And I taught you enough. I applaud your "restart" thread and hope you keep it honest and real from here on out. I was sincere when I said I "see" something in you that is most likely lacking in kids your age in your area. The toughest thing is to live up to your dreams rather than settle for the complacency around you.

I'd love to see what kind of info you could dig up on this mf'r who tried to scam me out of $3k on a watch I sold him. He filed a Paypal dispute that I sent him an empty box. I sent it overnight, insured, signature required, tracking...all that. Paypal ruled in my favor, then he opened another dispute saying it was an unauthorized purchase. I have all the pm's he sent me, his name, address etc..
On top of that he publicly bashed me calling me a thief on a public forum. Total piece of crap.

Great advice but this is the most generalized statement of senior Prime guys I've read. In this case you need to read all of 04HondaNSX's posts to get an idea as to why we've called his bluff from the very beginning. It was and still is legit to think he's "trolling". We wish Leonard was like you...!

I'm not sure I understand the point of this thread....you might as well have posted on how to eat cereal in the morning....

1) Open box of cereal - Use hands, not scissors. Trust me, this method works best as I have years of experience.

2) Pour cereal in bowl

3) ???

4) $ProfiT$$

You really shouldn't feel like you HAVE to say anything to gain legitimacy on a car forum. Sometimes it's best just to lurk until you have said car or a real question about said car that hasn't been overtly answered by searching (and sometimes, it needs to be brought back up for clarity/ease of search-able info).

I lurk quite a bit on 6speedonline and rennlist. I probably have fewer than 50 posts on both combined, so you won't catch me getting some GT3 owner's panties in a bunch.:tongue:

That's probably because most GT3 owners don't wear panties!!!!

I've been a prime member for a few years and an NSX owner for the past 14 months...I have a minimal amount of posts. I've figured out very early in my life that you can learn a great deal and become quite successful.
Just by being a good listener....It's been the cornerstone of my career.

Sorry Jetpilot3, I disagree this generalization isn't based off this one topic or a couple of topics . I'm talking about 10 years worth of lurking on Prime (look at my join date <--- + I didn't register but was frequenting this site 2 years prior to that). My experience was like that from the start and I've witness multiple times this occur to the younger guys. The older guys are harsh on the newcomers. It's alright, I get it now. You guys want to maintain the mature atmosphere that NSXprime has been known for, that's cool but some of the guys here can be ass**les at times.

Either way Leonard, just take it easy don't post as much and just listen more than voicing your opinion. There is a plethora of information here in prime so use it to your advantage.

Dont own a NSX but I can help on this.

I use a long step wash system.

1. Rinse over car get any light dust, dirt, smudge etc off.
Use like a spray nothing serious.
2. Wet a towel or whatever you may use. I use a small rag nothing fancy. And make sure you clean your wheels of all brake dust, etc. I mean clean like a pro since you want to look good later on.
3. I wash by hand. Machine was is fine but you cant get every nook and crany like a hand wash.
4. Hand dry using a MicroFiber towel. Dont want any lint anywhere.
5. Inspect car for any mistakes.
6. Apply scratch remover to areas of needed "removing" and rub in with a little arm.
7. Apply wax of your choice. I prefer Black Ice since its a clear product rubs in clear and leaves a glossy look.
8. If you have no window tint using a Glass Cleaner with a Microfiber towel works well or you can use a Alcohol based product to leave a streak free finish.
9. If you have tint use a "Tint safe" product. Usually something that doesnt contain Alcohol.
10. Take out floor mats. With a strong vacuum go through the inside of the car including in between the Seats and behind if possible.
11. Vacuum both sides of floor mats as well as the area it resides in.
12. I like to use Armor All as leaves leather a Nice shine. If your having a problem with smell I recommend you get a leather reviver. Also may be known as a another name. I like to use Coach(Company that makes handbags etc) Best stuff ever.
13. After all that you should be done.
14. Oh yea make sure you apply tire foam around the rim of tire for a nice shine!.

Welcome.

If you engine is dirty from road grime or whatever it may be I recommend just some ordinary Engine Degreaser. Spray it on let it sit for a few minutes(5-8) and rinse with water hose.

I recommend Black Ice Product for Wash and wax. Been using for a while and love results.

My methods and products that I use are superior to yours. I've had my special forces training on 3 black cars (RX7, GTO, NSX) and when I show up at "name those car events" grown men are having orgasms on the spot as if they drank a Viagra Protein smoothie.

I use a 2000psi electric pressure washer for the paint, wheels, tires, and engine bay.

As a matter of fact I've yet to see a NSX that out blings mine.

I've shown my cars enough times on this forum.

My proven methods:
