So who ended up with the paperweight?

Holy Cow! I wonder what I could fetch if I bundled my watch and crystal together! Maybe I could get that ARC Ti exhaust I always wanted. ;)

wow! I'm too cheap to buy the 1:18 scale model at $70 much less one of those.

That coulda paid for a nice mod or two to the real car.

Sheesh, I didn't know that was up! Totally missed out on the bidding.:frown:

$2,858.28 for a paperweight?

Before it's widely known as a paperweight, it should be stated that the Crystal NSX is the rarest NSX collectible out there. 2.8k is way high and that's the highest I've heard of one going for but, obviously, not out of the question.

IIRC, I've seen them sell for $400 a long time ago and high $700s a few years ago. But none had the boxes included.

Nothing wrong with it as a paperweight, as long as they are important papers.

I think someone needs to make a larger one as a female mold, so we can have NSX ice sculptures for parties.

Very interesting. Wow. Apparently they have gone up in value

Does anyone have any info about how many exist and are accounted for? How and why they were originally distributed? Anyone on Prime have one?

I'm on Prime and have one. I'm also pretty sure a few of the old timers have them too.

According to the NSXGOD, the number may be 350 and they were dealer promo parts.

There was one really high bid near the auction end that really shot the final price up. I'm wondering if that was a shill bid, since the price was still under $1000 until that particular bid.

In any case, I think most of the people that have these Crystal NSXs usually keep quiet about it. :)

Someone on prime just posted about selling one he had. I pmed him to see what he wanted for it but never got a price from him. He said he was going to put it up on ebay. Had I known one was for sale for 1k on prime I probably would have bought it.

I wanted it, bid on it and would have paid up to about the price Dali sold them for a year ago. That said, if someone wanted it enough to pay $2800 I may never get one! Oh well, I still have that Kyosho 1/18. :)

Something fishy about an auction going from $958 dollars to $2800 in one bid.

Yup. I really think at least one of those bids was a shill bid, but since the seller is a Prime member, I'll give the benefit of the doubt.

Actually, in my experience, the luggage set, and the Japanese NSX Goods Collection are even rarer than the Crystal NSX. In my 10 years in the NSX Community, I've seen at least 12 Crystal NSXs change hands, and have even seen/held 4 unique examples myself. In that same time, I've only seen 2 luggage sets change hands, and have never actually physically seen a set in front of me. The Japanese NSX Goods Collection, I've only seen bits and pieces of, and those pieces rarely change hands.

Good point - you're correct. The luggage set and "Goods Collection" are indeed more rare.

If you want the luggage, I'm sure myf16 has his price. ;)

The steering wheel is on the wrong side.

I have two pieces of luggage that have never been used. They've only looked at them once or twice.

Yeah, he put a set up for sale, and instituted a bidding war style method of sale. I bid $4K, and I lost. :frown:

Are you interested in selling the two pieces of luggage?

Dude they were going for $400 from Dali at least his crystal versions so $300 is a bargain.
