QUESTION :::

Hello

I am a newcomming person in the NSX world. I bought a NSX 3 months ago and I am interested in the NSX days at spa francorchamps.

When i look at your website there is no link to the 2005 event? Will the event be canceled?

DO you have some information for this day? Are there more cars coming to the circuit in that weekend?

I hope to hear from you soon

Kind regards,

Ronny Lucassen

ANSWER:::::

Hello,

All the information will be posted on the web site at the end of this month. The event is not cancelled.

Since we are finalizing the schedule for this event I cannot give you much more information at that time.

Kind Regards

SO we have to wait untill the have published it on there site

Hi Guys,

As you know October 21th to 23th Spa will be The Honda Trophy.
The organisation tries to get as much as possible drivers for free practice or for the race. This is important for financing the weekend. Every year we see less Honda's are participating in the practice or race. This is a big problem. I know a lot of people find the money is a big problem, but if you take in consideration how many hours you can drive on this beautifull race track, you will find, that on most other track days you have to pay more.

I myself will compete in the Trophy (if my car doesn't break down) and I hope a lot of us will at least come to the event and some of us also participate in one or more of the free practice hours.

Greetz, Gerard

Kevin, do you have more details of this at all, what I would expect etc, details of Hotels. I would really like to go but have not driven abroad at all so find the idea a little daunting.

Are you driving all the way there ?

I'll be there for the weekend, as I have done for the last few years.

I think this year I shall be driving on the Saturday..

It's not a big deal, or difficult at all. Yes, I'll be driving all the way there, if I didn't I wouldn't get to Spa now would I?

The hotel we're staying at is here. It can be booked online. There are cheaper options available, this link, has some.

Spa and Francorchamps are very quiet towns, driving around them is really easy.

Then you need to book your channel crossing, I use the tunnel. It's quick and simple, again book it online.

The drive down is simplicity itself. Dual carriageway all the way, and don't go through any cities or towns. I don't know where you live but if is the south of England, you won't believe how quiet the roads over there are. It really is so refreshing to drive down. Spa is only 2 hours from Calais. The drive to Dover is far more stressful than anything else.

That's about it really. If you want to go on the track you'll need to book that. I put the links on the NSXCB web site. If you need more help let me know.

Check the AA or RAC website for what you need to drive abroad. You need spare bulbs and warning triangle for France. Either a euro number plate (with the blue GB) or a GB sticker. No need to adjust the lights, as the NSX has a flat beam.

Other than that it's like a normal track event, on a great circuit.
Edit: Just noticed you're in Hemel, I'm in Welwyn, so could go down together?

Hi Kevin and Simon,

Glad to see you go to Spa. I hope to see you both there.

This is the rescheduled new programm:

As you can see, The second race on saturday will be a sort of a 100 miles endurance race. I hope I can carry enough fuel in my NSX. The last time I couldn't do more than 95 miles on one full tank on the track at Assen. They also put the Porsches together with the Honda's in one race

I know it's early, but I wonder if a few more people that are intending to go, can put their names down here?

I have to come a long way, and I hope to see the usual faces and friends.

simonprelude,
Don't be daunted, it's easy.
Route to Spa:

There are two routes, the following is the shortest and quickest and is practically a straight line on the map to Liege with no peage in France.
Calais, get on motorway to Bruxelles / Brugge, it’s straight to Brussels, motorway all the way. Fast. Easy.
At Brussels, take the Ring north (direction Luik)(Luik is Liege).
Leave the Ring direction Luik / Leuven / E40.
Take the E40 all the way past Liege. When passing Liege there are a lot of chaotic signs. follow “Aachen, Verviers, Saint Vith, Prüm, Maastricht, Anvers” but basically stay on the main motorway, don’t turn off.
After Liege, take the next motorway south, it’s the E42 towards Verviers, go past Verviers to, I think, exit 10 (it will have a picture of an F1 car and say Francorchamps). Turn right and follow the road. It really is easy.
The second route goes past Namur, this is longer and involves much more changing of motorways.
Hope to see you.
Peter
