Speed Sensor Install

Is the speed sensor that sits on top of the transmission housing accessed from the top or is it better to reach around from underneath? Looks like it is held on with one bolt that also holds the heat shield. Is that correct.

Top is easier. You need to remove the airbox and push the vacuum canister out of the way. I did mine that way. Yes, the bolt that holds the heat shield also holds the sensor. When reinstalling, I used masking tape to hold the sensor to the shield, which helped lining it back up with the holes on the trans. It's hard to see what you're doing, and you sort of have to do it by touch. Take your time and you will be fine.
