Speedomiter suddenly started going nuts

Hello Prime!

I was driving home and all of the sudden the speedo went form 45 to zero. The it would jump to 60 and back to zero and all in between. It would stop then continue. About 5 minutes form the house it was working perfectly for the last few minutes. Any suggestions or warnings that this may be a bigger problem?

No check engine lights or anything seemed out of the ordinary.

Had the same problem a while back. Speed sensor. Cheap and easy to fix. Should be a couple threads on prime about it.

+1 agree just swapped mine out 136 or 186 at dealership If I remember correctly

You can use an early 90's Accord one. Found on Amazon.com for roughly $40 if I recall correctly.

I noticed that they look very similar. has anyone ever tired it?

There are posts confirming that the Accord sensor will work. Some don't have the wiring pigtail on them and you just connect your connector directly to it, which requires moving the harness a bit (I have read).
