my 2-pence'r. . .
Regarding 215/40R17 vs. 205/45R17, I made the seamless transition from the former to the latter on my non-OEM front wheels w/o rubbing or TCS/ABS issues on my previous NSX, a '91 coupe w/
Zanardi/Type-S suspension.
My after-market front wheels are 17x7 just like the OEM front wheels, but my front offset is +35mm vs. +55mm for the OEM front wheels. The
Zanardi/Type-S suspension perhaps lowers the OEM ride height by ~0.6". The tires in question were the
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position.
Joshs has a '91 NSX coupe w/ OEM suspension & the '02+ OEM wheels (F: 17x7 +55mm, R: 17x9 +56mm) & also switched from 215/40R17 of another brand/model to 205/45R17 on the
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position. He noticed a very-very minor rub when turning lock-to-lock towards one side (I can't recall which side, though). It didn't sound significant enough for me to not consider such a size in this particular application even in the future, but I'm sure he can comment better on the matter (if it's gotten worse or gone away, etc').

Regarding ABS/TCS issues, I'd assume the '02+ NSX wouldn't see such a variance as the '91-'93 NSX when going w/ 205/45R17. The '91-'93 OEM front tire was 205/50R15 vs. '02+ OEM front tire being 215/40R17. Of-course the rear-size is a factor as well. I assume the '94-'01 & '02-'05 ABS/TCS vary from the '91-'93 due to different wheel/tire size (outer rolling diameters vary). . .
