I once again had a post deleted in Off Topic because it had strong criticism of Obama, who is at the center of the political malfunctions. The thread was discussing health care and the political implications and it was simply deleted because of my criticism.

I'm done with this liberal fascist censorship on this site and ask that NSXPRIME delete my account and also delete all of my posts. If my posts are not deleted, I may end up writing a script that finds all posts and deletes them. I am dead serious, I want no record of association with Prime. If I remember correctly, there was no censorships of the anit-Bush posts that happened in the last four years, which is the right thing to do on this public ergh.. "private" forum.

Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, I will no longer be able to contribute to other sections of Prime, such as DIY and helping with troubleshooting, or purchasing and selling parts.

For as long as the American Constitution exists, I will speak my politically incorrect mind. I came from Romania and my parents and friends parents suffered under Communism - I know first hand what Communism and Socialism is. We are headed for it unless people wake up and kick out this gangster government, starting at the top.

Here are some other politically incorrect quotes to ponder (for the length that this post exists):

"A democracy can not exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until voters discover that they can vote for them selves largess of the public treasury with a result that democracy always fails under loose fiscal policy and is generally followed by dictatorship. "

"The average age of the world’s great civilizations has been 200 years for a nation to progress to a sequence from bondage to spiritual faith, spiritual faith to great courage, great courage to liberty, liberty to abundance, abundance to selfishness, selfishness to complacency, complacency to apathy, apathy to dependence. And from dependence back again into bond age"

"A government that is big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything away."

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke

"The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in a period of moral crisis maintain their neutrality." - Dante

"I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself by the handle."- Winston Churchill

"If we do not believe in freedom of expression for those despise we do not believe in it at all." - Noam Chomsky

"Heresy is only another word for freedom of thought." - Graham Greene, British novelist

"You see these dictators up on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police. They're afraid of words and thought. ... They make frantic efforts to bar our thoughts and words. ... A state of society where men may not speak their mind -- where children denounce their parents to the police -- where a businessman or small shopkeeper ruins his competitor by telling tales about his private opinion. Such a state of society cannot long endure if it is continually in contact with the healthy outside world." - Winston Churchill, explaining why Nazism is the enemy of Democracy in a BBC radio address - 10/16/1938

"The Internet is the next Kent State, and we're the ones who are probably going to get shot. "- Yetzer-Ra, Hacker - Quoted in Inside the world of a 'hactivist', by Deborah Radcliff (cnn.com), October 18, 2000

"Take away the right to say "f***" and you take away the right to say "f** the government". - Lenny Bruce
EXACTLY!
And the final political incorrect statement (which should certaintly get me banned if not motivated already)
"I'd rather be a Right-wint nutjob than a Liberal with no nuts and no job" -Need to find the bumper sticker for this..

Good day Lud & Hal and YES, Obama is the Biggest Donkey Mistake America. Hal & Lud quite possibly voted for him and are failing to admit the mistakes and disaster it has been for the country.

Thank you for deleting my account within 24 hours.

We can do this? We can quit and be erased like we never ever were here?

I didn't think you could quit.
I tried but ...they pulled me back in

A thick skin does one well here - like any interweb community.

And sour grapes make bad whine.

It seems that prime has more to offer nsx owners than the "off topic" forum.

Wow. From this:

A couple things:

A) I'd say that QL is doing a super job, mostly because he seems to be a genuinely decent fella trying to be even handed.

B) Every site with forums needs an OT forum, just to keep the shit out of the kitchen. IMO as long as the Hubub does not rise to the level where it spills out into the other fora, mission accomplished.

C) I frequent another site where the OT forum is allowed to get slightly more politically rambunctious that it is here, but with very firm application of a single simple rule: Absolutely no personal attacks are allowed.

That is; It is perfectly acceptable to say something like "Your argument/post/opinion is stupid/ill conceived/ lame/wrong"...

....But in no case is it ever acceptable to say "You are stupid/an A-hole/retarded".

Violators of those rules are dealt with harshly, losing their OT privileges.

It seems to work.

To this. Go figure.

Prime is the only place I am censored in my entire life. I have a good time on prime and I try an censor myself as much as possible. Personally I don't like to censor myself. It makes me feel like a liar when someone isn't getting the raw me.

I have always believed in freedom of speech. I believe someone should be able to say anything they want and no one can do anything about it. It use to be that way but this country has changed, many people are scared to even open their mouth. The spirit is dying.:frown:

To the OP, if I were younger I would do something about what is going on in this country and get involved. At this point I only have 20-40 years left and I would like to relax after being up on the soap box for many years.

We all agreed to rules before we could post here.
The rules are simple enough, and they say, in boldface,
"If this is going to upset you, please do not register here."

Call me old-fashioned, but I think agreements should count
for something. I think it's good practice to mean what you say.

There is no shortage of places to talk that have looser rules
or no rules, if that's what you want.

My impression of the moderators here has been that they
welcome different points of view. The posts I've seen
deleted on Prime were just flat-out uncivil.

I tend to think of my input on Prime more as a conversation someone's living room, namely Lud's, in which I am a guest. It's not really a matter of freedom of speech, or even of self-censorship, but more a matter of common decency in a friend's home.

Exactly,as long as I am on prime I always try to post as if I were conversing in public, the living room analogy is also apropriate.

I enjoy Prime as a "Car Site" , and even though I too an conservative, I do not think this is the place for political discussion. If you want to express your political frustration go to a political site.

I knew you wouldn't leave.

I get ticked off once in a while too.
