I want to try the Toyo T1-S tires on my stock rims (1999). Toyo does not make a 215/45/16 for the front. Should I go with the 205/45/16 or, the 225/45/16? According to the Toyo website, the diameters are 23.2" and 23.9" respectfully. They list rim widths at 6.5-(7.0)-7.5 and 7.0-(7.5)-8.5 respectfully (Ideal size in parentheses). They do have the 245/40/17 for the rear. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had those Toyo's (T1S)and hated them. Mine got very hard, noisy, and slippery. The sidewalls were showing cracking. Never tracked them. Great for the first few thousand miles though.

I've used 225/40-16 and 245/40-17 on the track before and loved them. My lap times were no different than with Kumho Victoracers but I'm sure that was due to my driving.

The car was corner balanced.

I recently switched to 255/40-17 for the rears and the car got real darty and twitchy. The tires made the car 1/4" taller. I lowered the rear Teins the same amount and the twitching went away.
I dind't have the noise and hardness on the old rears before I replaced them.

Hope this helps.

I was using the Toyo's for about 18 months 225/40-16 up front and 255/40-17 on the rear.
I put them on the day I bought the car, I just put some new Yoko's ES100's on this past weekend 225/45-16 and 255/40-17 the cars better with quicker turn in. I did like the Toyo's though the ES100's saved me about $240.
