just installed my new clutch and the clutch works fine. but when i make a left or right turn. i have a bad rattle, clunking noise only when i turn the wheel. so bought a new axle because i thaought it was it. is my tranny bad?:confused::confused:

oil is filled to proper level

What oil did you use for the trans/diff? If it doesn't have the friction modifier in it like the OEM Honda MTF your differential clutch plates will make a metallic noise when making tight turns.

This is the stuff you should be using(3 qts worth if I recall correctly):

yes. i did use honda oil. i think it may be the diff? im not sure. it also fills like the the tires are locking u. the car makes a clunking vibration when turning left or right in a parking lot or sharp turn. im thinking about buying a tranny

Mac,

I'd take it to a specialist like Edin said before I run out and buy a tranny. I'd think it was just a repair part. Good luck - keep us posted. I thought it was one of your drive joints but if you replaced that already and it's still making a noise - I'd get an expert to look at it.

just install the new used tranny and everything is working fine now. nsx had been down for two months, damn its nice driving it again:biggrin:
by the way the diff was bad took the old tranny apart and all the gears and syc were good, took the diff and found the problem. im thinking about buy a used diff and putting the trany back together. and selling it to put towards a turbo set up, the tranny was rebuilt by dali and had short gears and that good stuff in it.

i can tell the big diff in the short gears and the stock gears. im just going to leave the stock tranny and boost it now:biggrin:
