Rua left no doubt, the only thing I doubt now is if Machida was really THAT good as he was played out to be. Not that Machida is a slouch, but how could they look past what a great fighter Shogun is during their first match, no one barely gave him a chance then. I couldn't be happier for Shogun and he's a class act to boot.

This was a main event that people pay to see. It's too bad we'll have to wait a long while before he's given a shot at Silva. I bet you almost everyone would pay double to see them fight next rather than Sonnen and Belfort.

I am soooo happy with Shogun, finally redemption, justice was served!

I'd also LOVE to see him fighting Silva, and now there's no excuses b/c Silva and Rua ain't little friends like he is with Machida :)

It was a great night, I am Fan of Shogun since yearrrrssss back on Pride, he had hard times for a while but he is again on the top of his game! :)

This also shows how HUNGRY Rua was -brazilian accent coming- lol

How about Daly ha? he was BANNED, CUT from UFC, IMHO what Daly did was assault, plain and simple, after the bell it's over, it's OVER, he had LAME excuses like "he didn't hear the bell, etc" ...... have you ever heard about James Butler? he got 4 months in prison after his sucker punch to Richard Grant, so Daly actually got lucky he got banned from UFC only.

He is a thug, perhaps he should be boxing b/c this is MMA and he is one dimensional, to bad b/c he is very talented.

Pretty decent PPV imo. Probably just me but the best part for me was Tom Lawlor doing his Dan Severn thing. Grats to Shogun!!

Oscar, I thought Rua was washed up when he came to the UFC. It is amazing how much nagging injuries can play a factor in a fighter's performance.

A review of Daly is still pending. He will face fines and possible suspensions. The board in Montreal will spend a few days deciding. I thought Daly and his training partner (Hardy) were both punks from London. However, Hardy showed class in his fight last month vs GSP while Daly showed that he is truly an A-hole.

Did any serious fan think Machida would win this fight vs Rua? Now that Rua is healthy he looks like he is at the top of his game. It was great to see him beat Machida twice.

and yeah, the porn-stache on Tom Lawlor was epic lol.

You got to watch the weigh in if you haven't seen it. If you are an old school UFC fan its great...he walks in totally in the Dan Severn look...plain gray t-shirt, black tights and all. Joe Rogan and Dana White couldn't help but laugh. Classy win by the guy who beat him too (Doerkson), in one of the after fight interviews, he knew the guy was just messing around and didn't see the antics as disrespectful and gave him props for entertaining the fans.

Rua had knee surgery, not a nagging injury. :) When you saw him gas against Forrest and Coleman you knew it wasn't him because he's always been an high energy action fighter that can go the distance. He was a hard hitting tasmanian devil in Pride. First fight, pros picked Machida to win about 21-2. This time it was more even, about 12-11 in favor of Rua. A healthy Rua is a top 3 P4P fighter.

The 2 punches that hurt Machida the most landed around the temple area. First one knocked him down, the next one knocked him senseless. Then Rua was able to get his jaw and knew he was out. Classy Rua knew he already knocked him out and stopped punching and the ref appreciated that.

I went to school with Josh Koschek @ Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, although I didn't generally associate with the wrestling team dudes (coached by Olympian Bruce Baumgartner BTW) but Josh was friends with one of my close Fraternity brothers. I was glad to see him win, but that knee to the head thing was pretty dubious. Looking forward to TUF now, maybe just a little more than ever before.

I could tell from the prefight that I hated Daley, I generally dislike anyone who talks that much shit... The fact that he was up against a fellow Boro Alum was just more fuel for that fire. I really enjoyed seeing him get taken down- the fact that he likely suffered while Kos taunted him during the fight is just gravy...

Then of course Daley showed us how classy he is... What a douche bag.
