Ok its been long enough! I am going to volunteer to compile every single rim/tire combo by ALL NSX Prime members! I will have a link on this post that will go to a wheel page. Example....lets say a newby is looking for some aftermarket wheels, and really likes the Volk TE37, but has no f'n clue as to what size, what offset, what size tires, will it fit a BBK, will the tires rub, do I need spacers, how about extended lugs, ......Sound familiar?

Here is what I am asking, and I will put it into matrix form, seperated by mfg.

NSX Prime name
year NSX
Rim brand, and type
rim size f/r
rim offset f/r
tire size f/r
BBK? if so brand
spacers needed f/r
extended lugs? f/r
lowered? with what setup?
front tire rubbing? inside/outside
tire rubbing rear?
if you could re-order your current set-up, what would you change?

*if you have a pic of your set-up great, add it!

This way a guy can click on "volk" and see what others are running, and see what offsets work, and which won't etc etc.

I will NOT have or offer any "links" or "ads" on these pages. This will be for NSX Prime members reference/benefit purpose only.

I will start with car #1, a recent customers car.

I just bought a red '92 , which is equipped with chromed Zanetti 18" x 8.5" rims. Tires are: front-225 x 40 x 18 ; rears--275 x30 x 18. I get a rub on the front wheelwell liner when cranked fully left or right. According to the previous owner, they also trigger the traction control system, so that it needs to be turned off when driving. Does this make sense?

I personally don't like them and prefer the stock-rim look so I'll likely be selling these in the near fuure.

This set-up is fine in the rear, but messed up with the front tire.(see here---> http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showpost.php?p=408949&postcount=3) Therefore I will leave it out of the matrix. If you do end up putting a 215 or 225 with a lower profile tire than your current 40 series, then re-post your info.

I will wait until you install your new front tires.

Rim brand, and type: SSR GT3
rim size f/r : 18X7.5" / 19X10"
rim offset f/r: +42mm / +41mm
tire size f/r: 215/35/18 / 265/30/19
BBK? if so brand: None
spacers needed f/r: None
extended lugs? f/r: None
front tire rubbing? inside/outside: Rubbed slighty on the inside under full lock and suspension compression.
tire rubbing rear?: None
suspention: Eibach springs with stock shocks.
if you could re-order your current set-up, what would you change?: The set up I have is recomended by Tire Rack. The rear is perfect. The front did rub a bit on the inner front as described above. This was the case both at stock height and with my Eibachs. The differece was that it rubbed on a lower spot after I lowered the car. I would prefer a +37/38 front offset instead of the +42. With the +42, it could have still come out about 5mm and be flush with the outer fender lip just like the rear. This would also solve the inner rubbing under full lock and compression. I also would get 225/35/18 front and 275/30/19 rear tires. I only bought the 265 rear because that was available at the time.

I think this guide also need suspension changes made such as springs/shocks/coilovers....my 2 cents.

Most definitely as suspension is going to be the main determining factor to rubbing or no rubbing....

Stock 02.
I tried the wheels that were on my previous S2000.
Volk Racing GTC Face 1s all around
Front 7.5x18 50 offset
Rear 9.0x18 55 offset (milled from 50)

Tires - Pirelli PZero Rosso
Front 225/35/18
Rear 255/35/18

The front tires rubbed during a moderate turn. A 215 may fix the problem.

Just FYI.

I put the stocks back on.

Stock calipers/rotors (new pads)
Spacer Needed with BBK on rears.
OEM Studs F/R
Lowered with Eibachs. Tein Flex on the way.
Front rub on full lock.
Rear does not rub
What would I change: Nothing.

Thanks for putting this together... I will definitely need this list of rims and specs when I consider upgrading to a BBK...

good stuff...

Work Wheels, VS-SS
17 x 8 / 18 x 10
+43 / +38
225 35 17 / 285 30 18
No BBK but fronts are R disk and rears are A disk (R disk will clear most BBK)
spacers needed? Stoptech front may need 1-2 mm spacer / cannot fit BBK in rear
extended lugs? no
lowered? with what setup? OEM
front tire rubbing? inside/outside None
tire rubbing rear? None
if you could re-order your current set-up, what would you change?

I would re-order the front wheels with a +35 offset and use A disk to get more lip to match the 98mm lip in the rear. If I go with a BBK, I would get wide front fenders and order 17 x 8.5 (R disk) with +11 offset. Basically get a wheel with lots of lip and caliper clearance for a BBK.
