Unofficial Big-Wheel Thread: 18/18 and 18/19 - the future for NSX tire sizes

I was recently made aware that there is a PSS available in 225/35/18! Apparently it is not on tire rack.

In case anyone still looks here.

Any idea where you can find these for purchase online? Went to a couple sites and didn't see them for sale. Would love these as my new set

Thanks.. I will standing by. Seems much better than the spray liner.

My BC Forged wheels were made with 225/40 fronts in mind. I went with 18x8.5 +44 and 19x9.5 +35. The front I wanted to be able to dial in with a spacer if necessary.

Currently I have Pirelli Zero Nero GT tires in 225/35 and 275/30 with stock fenders & liners. No issues but these are my interim tires. I am thinking RS3 or maybe Michelins.

It is nice to see the PSS arrive in 225/35 but I like having more sidewall height so that is more of a fallback plan.

IIRC the pirellis have a really small overall diameter for that size. Pirellis seem to have a small sidewall in general...

Yeah I am not sure how this compares to others (there are very few other 225/35 tire choices as we all know). The front on a 8.5" is stretched a bit too.
225/35-18 front OD: 24.1"
275/30-19 rear OD: 25.4"

That is according to Tire Rack.

Anyway these Nero Zero GTs aren't anything great so back to discussing bigger/better tires..

@prym8, in your current setup are you running with no spacers?

Yes. No rubbing, with KW V3.

It was designed for a certain Mercedes model. You can have multiple tires of the same listed size having varying (actual) tread widths, construction, compound, etc... Since the 275/35-19 is only available in the Mercedes version, that's what you haveto go with. When there are multiple options in a size, you need to look at the actual tread widths and section widths on tire rack to make a decision.

I'm considering trying the 225/40-18 size. Will report back here.

^^ What size tire? Looks like a 215?

^^ What size tire? This does not look like a 215 on a 8.5" wheel.
old set up was 225, current setup 215.
With wider fenders currently, I will be going back to 225 for fronts.

I have room to play with upfront.
