strange doors on the bmw zen 1?
Here's some info on the Z1:
The most distinctive features of the body are the electrically powered doors, which in the open position drop down into the side sills

I would like to know at what point in time being a rich girl that hangs out and shops all the time became a career?? I mean, seriously. What gives?? Can you go to school to major in being a 'socialite'? I sure would like to know where to sign up because evidently you get free stuff like cars, clothes, and everything else, while the rest of the world has to do real work. Sorry, just venting at how the super rich kids can list being rich and hanging out as a profession.

Jeremy was wrong. The K on SLK stands for "kurz" or short in English, not Kompressor as he tried to smugly point out. It would have been funny if she corrected him!

Sorry I have to correct you the K (in SLK) stands for kompakt (compact).

He sure meant the K in for example the old 200K that stands for kompressor (compressor) which is a sort of supercharger. Well mechanical driven, but it does the same job.

Good job finding this mistake.

You know I also thought it was K for Kompact, but a friend of mine who works for BMW and is German (somehow making him more knowledgeable about anything German-related in my mind:wink: ) corrected me. I just did a search on Google and came up with this:

http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/SLK

http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z974/default.aspx

Both agree with his correction, but again, I am only repeating what I was told. I think you understood my meaning though either way.

It would have.... you are correct in that K.

The SL55 has a kompressor... if K was for Kompressor then they would both have to be called "SLK". The CL55 would be the CLK... they clearly are not. Its common sense, I can't believe Jeremy got this so wrong.

wikipedia appears to be turning into a collection of what people input..not professional researchers but joe nobody with an eye-dee-err of sumthin. I've found so much nonsense in wikipedia of late...it makes it hard to use it as a reference anymore :)

LOL she ran a red light!!

I clearly stated the K in 200K or 230K etc. stands for kompressor (compressor) not the K in SLK...
