Voltage question

Car wont hold a charge after a couple of weeks, common problem. My question is my voltage on the dash reads 13.5 is that a little high?

That is a reasonable value. When you get up around 14 v is when you risk cooking the battery. The dash voltmeter can be a little inaccurate. An easy place to get an accurate measure of the system voltage with a voltmeter is between the jump start terminal (+) and the chassis ground.
