VVIS Butterfly Valve Inspection

I had a rattle coming from my engine bay between 1500-2000 RPM, Shad suggested it could be a loose butterfly valve in the VVIS. So, I decided to take it apart and check it out. It turns out all of the screws were tight and the rattle was actually coming from a heat shield in the exhaust. While I was in there I went ahead and added some loctite to the screw heads and cleaned up any oil in the intake manifold. All in all about a 3 hour job. I snapped a couple of pictures as well:

Sorry about all the unecassary work but at least you can sleep at night now. I used a scope to inspect mine.

Ya, I wish I would have "caught" something, but I'm glad I checked it out. Every part that I replace or inspect on this car is just a little more piece of mind ;)
