I understand that you can lose 30lbs by removing the spare tire and another 7lbs with the engine cover? Is this true? Nice savings. I wonder what they translate to in 0-60. Half a tenth?

Hey Flying Low,

I was reading this mag, I think it was super street or sport compact car. And they said for every 200LBS you gain one tenth of a second. Don't know if that is true, but thats what I read.

Also I think in the FAQ they said you can save 40lbs or so by switching out the seats.

I'll have to look again.

Good estimate Flying Low. Based on my calculations, 37 pounds of weight savings would translate to 0.06 second better 0-60 time for a stock 91-94 NSX.

You can not use a general rule of thumb very accurately to translate weight savings into time because each car weighs a different amount.
