I think I saw this bug in the same spot in my yard, upside down, since Monday or Tuesday. I assumed it was dead the entire time for the week.

This morning I took a careful look and noticed the legs were moving, which creeped me out. Tonight I walked by and saw the legs moving even more, and the body moving ever so slightly.

This thing has been in the same spot for 4-5 days, upside down now, but it apparently is not dead. The legs are moving quite a bit, and I think it has an antenna on its head that is moving too.

WTH is this thing, and why is it not dead?

I don't want to be buried in a pet cemetery........

Everyone was always so worried about zombies but no one ever gave a thought about ZOMBIE BUGS until that fateful day........

Maybe it's The amusement park owner dressed in a bug suit trying to run you off your property so he can get the treasure chest buried in the yard?

OR mayyyyybbbbeeee, you hit it with your car on the way home, it didn't die but was knocked out in a coma for the last few days and now is coming to?

It's part of the Eleodes genus of beetles also know as "darkling or pinacate beetles" and more commonly referred to as "stinkbugs".

Looks like what we call a stink beetle in the west.

Stink bugs are a different bug out east though.

If you bring it inside and warm it up, and then irritate it it should stick its ass in the air. Look up stink beetle.

send it on over, my daughter would love it. she loves bugs. my wife's friend in PA sent her a box with a friggin giant dead cicada in it. she likes to carry around the thing (the BUG not the box) and show people. i really wanted to say GET THAT F*****G THING AWAY FROM ME!!!! GROSS!!!!! It's about the size of one of those FIATs that SteveNY has stuck in his tires. When in SC, we visited these gardens that had grasshoppers that must have had about 2 or 3 lbs of meat on them. They are as large as her hands and she's picking them up proudly showing everyone. They were so large, I could easily see the evil glint in their ugly compound eyes.

I hate bugs.
