WHEELS - Weight vs. Looks

Would appreciate some opinions and photos of wheels that have both performance (low weight) and looks.

I have Volks AV3's which look great but are like a rolling anchor on all 4 corners. On the other end of the spectrum, Enkei NT03's, for example, are very low weight but look odd on the NSX (IMO).

Other then OEM's, what are people running that they find are a good compromise (photos and weights or estimates are appreciated).

17x7.5 front + 18x9.5 rear is my current setup. probably stay with the same. I like the 17/18 on the NSX.

I like OEM wheels (16"/17" or 17"/17") with wheel adapters so that the offset looks more aggressive.

Are you currently running this set-up? Happen to have a pic? I have OEM 16/17 rims, I've bought 25mm spacers all around but not installed yet. I kind of want to see how it looks on your car if you have a pic.

thank you

niM

Volk Racing CE28N's are very light weight and strong (10-spoke forged one-piece). When I first started looking to replace my stock wheels, I didn't particularly like the looks of the CE28N. But after a while, they grew on me and now I think they are one of the best looking wheels. (see avatar)

If you want even more performance, an alternative are the new Volk Racing RE30's (split-7-spoke)... 30% more ridgid than both the CE28N and TE37. They weigh in at slightly more than the CE28N, but slightly less than the TE37.

Those carbon wheels look great and are very light!

Could you post some pic's of those wheels plz?

Are you looking for weight vs. looks only, or is price a factor?

If price is not a factor, then I would suggest forged three piece wheels from Fikse (www.fikse.com) - expect to pay $3500-$4000 for a set.

If price is a factor, then what is the budget for wheels only?

If I find a wheel that is between 17 and say 24 lbs (for the 18" rears) that subjectively blows away other wheels I would pay up to $2500 to $3k, but would have to love them.

I happen to love the look of the AV3's that I have but again I sacrified weight/perf for looks. Looking for both.

I may relook at a couple of the Volks people have mentioned in this thread. Thanks.

A budget of $2.5K-$3K for wheels gives you lots of options for lightweight wheels. Science of Speed has a great selection of lightweight wheels made for the NSX:

I am running the BBS type S wheels, although they are light, they seem to have reduced steering feedback which I am anxious to have.
