When changing a battery...

...what is the correct sequence for disconnecting and reconnecting the cables? Just once I would like to do this without getting zapped.

if you do the negative first you
1) wont have to worry about grounding the wrench
2) won't have to worry about grounding the Pos side when you've disconecting b/c you've already "undone" the circuit

However, I've been wrong a number of times.. witness Beta v VHS and Now. Blue Ray v.....HDDVD.. etc.. etc....

Does not really matter as long as you're Careful.

More important is always wear protective eye gear. Knowing where the nearest hose is located would also be a plus. I've seen two batteries explode in my life, really, really impressive, pretty much a bomb. One of the reasons I went to all gel or sealed lead acid on all my cars.
