Where are all the Production deliveries ??

I wonder if Acura puts nitrogen in there.

Nope. Not like the Nissan GT-R. Unless the individual dealer has a nitrogen filling station already for whatever reason (most likely to upsell nitrogen fills when cars come in for service or get tires), a NSX will just have regular old boring air in its tires.

I miss the Japanese air that came with the old NSX.....

each country gets a vin # coding and starts at 001 each model year

the serial # (Formerly referred to as chassis #) tracks the full production run which started with the Hendrick car. The serial # will not reset each year and is not impacted by the country the car is being built for. At this point the serial # is over 40 higher that us vin #s because over 40 ex us cars have been built

The weekly update

no production news
no vin # for my car
about 10 cars shipped this week
playbook 4 notes 60 days from dealer receipt of a car for paint curing. The line off date or better yet date of panel painting for a given car does not appear to be available
there was mention in another thread that the cf roof is applied on top of the aluminum one. I am told this is incorrect. The cf roof panel is installed in place of the aluminum one
tour info is expected to be sent to buyers in early October. Unknown if Acura will reach out directly or the dealer will reach out. For cars registered to a business Acura may not have contact info
prior to customers getting the tours, there will be a week of mock tours to get the staff some practice
i let them know about PDI issues like over inflated tires and delivery issues like lack of familiarity on the car prior to a live delivery
Only 2-4 nord gray cars ordered
take rate on red is crazy high

It looks like about a 65% take rate for the interwoven wheels with painter more than twice as popular than either machined or polished

I am so frustrated with this paint curing process. I have approx 600 kms on my car and already have two small stone chips on the hood. How does Acura expect us to not drive the car without paint protection for 60 days from dealer delivery??? The PPF installer has never heard of this long of a curing process either.

I'm estimating the build date of my car was mid August and have booked the paint protection film installation for Oct 10th. Very hard to not take the car out with only a limited time left before the snow hits.:frown:

B&B (I hope that is OK)
thanks for concise clarification.
guess we'll not have an easy way of knowing US builds to fulfill all quota (each dealers 1st) cars ... Or will we?
At this point I'd really just prefer my delivery delayed till April or May and let the paint cure in Ohio before shipment.

I have to believe that play books will continue to be created and they will happily announce at some point that the coverage units have been built
My car is supposedly the 160th us car and it started production 2-3 weeks ago
I expect to maintain some level of communication with the specialists after delivery so we can just get questions like, can Gadetman's car sit at the PMC until the paint has cured

This may be a biased response, but if I were a professional race car driver I would not really care about a toned down, everyday super car as the new Nsx.I mean that in a good way, not Nsx bashing. But one would think he'd want something more organic and raw instead of electronic and digital. The Nsx seems like a great car for an average Joe to jump in and drive near limit. A Ferrari, not so much....

#72 is now on fleabay listed by a Vegas Porsche dealer

Just another example of more cars for sale with non-acura dealers than delivered to actual customers who put in a "custom order".

Serial # 072, a valencia red one has landed in Tampa

Video added, unusual driving forward off the truck delivery

from tampa to vegas...........

#47 is with a non-acura dealer in cali and it is listed on fleabay with a BIN under $200k. Looks like the market is coming down with dealers not capturing the AMVs they had hoped for........

I received my Vin # today from the dealer, # 171.

I believe I now understand what the "assigned date" in on the NSX time line. I believe it is the date the Vin # is assigned, in this case September 22.

Hi everyone,
