Why France is best place to live in world

I have friends moving from Rosny Su Bois, a suburb of Paris, to Los Angeles. payThey are so happy to be leaving france. They estimate, that they pay almost 70% of their income in taxes. They have a VAT, Super high Income taxes, and misc fee. Mu friends in the UK are moving to san diego, because they want the freedom to succeed or fail on their own.

They understand that paying 400-600 a month for health insurance is a lot less than the disgusting taxes they pay for "free" health care.

Joe, that was a right sh*thole where that was located.

I remember it being about 2 miles or less from open fram land and sitting on a creek.

If this is as you describe then don't come to the Bronx.

When I was young, I could never dream that I can have LAMBo_Or Ferrari, Now it is within my reach.

How many young people in Europe will and can achieve that dream?

+1 However I was born and raised in Europe and so I came to a conclusion that U.S. is a place to be makeing money and owning things when on the other hand Europe is a place to live with not many worries. Most of my friends don't even own a car like my daily driver but while i was here makeing money they were backpacking across the whole European continent having a blast. Which is better I do not know but I live in Chicago for the past 9 years and i like it here :)

There's a good place somewhere for everyone, depends on what you want out of life.
For me, it is freedom, low taxes and unlimited opportunity.

"GO USA HOCKEY! :biggrin::biggrin:

BATMAN, (as well as any who like the idea of 6 months paid maternity leave).

Conversation i had with a nurse i work with...

(mentioned the france maternity thing)

Nurse--Wow that sounds awesome. we should have that here

Me--How many kids you have?

Nurse--2

Me-- AH. So you won't have ANY issue with your neighbor crapping out 6 or 7 kids... and YOU paying for her to have 3 YEARS OFF FULLY PAID?

Nurse--- Uhhh. well. I, uh. No, i guess i don't think you could do that.

I see people ALL THE TIME on disability for unbelievable crap. I always remember how in all the other parts of the world, fibromyalgia is a terminal disease. Thats because if you don't work, you starve to death!

Good point.

Europe is great for kids and college students that haven't settled down.

Once someone wants to settle down and likes to make $$$ and own things then the USA model is better. As a matter of fact, It's probably right in the middle between Europe and places like China where the income tax is 15%~ but there isn't government support if you don't manage your finances well.

If you are poor and starving u mine as well wait for death on the side of the streets.....

First kid $12.5k and the cost for us was $16. Just had the second on different insurance, cost us $340. I had a $7800 sleep study done and another $1500 in CPAP equipment installed at my house and the cost to me was $39.

I kind of like the insurance deal we have.

Wife and I really like France for holidays. Nice wine, great food and clean streets. Plenty of friendly Police prescence around were we stay and best of all no Speed Cameras!

There are many right things about France as well as there are things that are wrong just like any country.

Excellent little statement. I am from Europe but I've been in the US for 12 yrs and if I've learned anything, it's that Europeans prefer to live with little if it means less worry. Americans will chose to live a life of worry and burdens as long as it means keeping up with the Joneses. The commercialism and materialism are seared into our brains. I'm in debt up to my eyeballs while my father in Germany never owed a penny to anyone.

On the other topic, I work in health care and we turn away people with serious illnesses on a daily basis if they are uninsured or insured with Medicaid... or they have to wait for months and months.... actually 18 months in my clinic. This is highly common in the US. And then you pay your whole life for Medicare and still end up paying for 20% of your care when you're 65 and finally become eligible, and paying that with whatever little money you're getting. I've seen people in their 20s and 30s get struck with epilepsy or MS and get rejected for Medicare disability for whatever bureaucratic reason. And they can't work anymore and life just gets real shitty real fast. I'm sure those folks wish they were French.

Then I see people who were drug addicts and developed all these neurological issues get all the free care they want. My neighbor is one of them... She always asks me if I want weed when we both happen to be out on the porch at the same time, and she always complains about her respiratory issues while smoking a cigarette. She hasn't talked to me lately, not since I mentioned my opposition to legalizing weed. She once told me she has disability Medicare and Medicaid... she gets free welfare living money, free health care and no copay in the world. I have an HMO and still have to pay $300 for ever CT scan and evaluation I get. I have to do this crap every year for the rest of my life because I had cancer. Don't you wish we had those "death panels" for jerks like her?

As far as the quality of care, I've seen great doctors here and in Europe and I've seen crappy ones. I had surgeries in Croatia and Bosnia that my doctors here said were done very well. Same with dental work. Doctors are doctors, I see it as an amazing feat to become one.

Ted Nugent, rock star and avid bow hunter from Michigan, was being interviewed by a French journalist, an animal rights activist. The discussion came around to deer hunting.

The journalist asked, 'What do you think is the last thought in the head of a deer before you shoot him? Is it, 'Are you my friend?' or is it 'Are you the one who killed my brother?

Nugent replied, 'Deer aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, what am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the French.'

The interview ended.

And best of all no Speed Cameras!

Maybe none of those where you stay, but France is full of them these days.
If i drive down to Paris From Rotterdam, i will pass about 15 stationary speedtraps, with 10 of them in France.

Calais to Paris flat out never a problem as long as you keep and eye out for the speed traps.

Well, at least they got the decensy to put up a sign that there is a speed trap.
But its not like there are no speedtraps.

But most US citizens are paying for their healthcare right? Most of my peers have their health insurance cost taken from their paychecks or at least a portion of their overall healthcare costs. Although its not taken by the government in the form of taxes it is taken by the employer. I dont know how much is taken exactly but I wonder if for some its close to 20%. I am very fortunate because my company pays 100% of my family's health care costs....nothing comes out of my paycheck. But I think this is a rarity. Most are having something taken out of their checks either by their employer or if self employed they are paying for a health insurance plan. .

I recall a few years back my employer showed just how much they do pay for just my family's health insurance.....it was a HUGE amount and I am dam glad I dont have to pay it or even 1/2 of it. I dont know if was 20% of my total pay but I remember it been a very large sum

BTW - I think you should site the source of your information since some of it is just cut and pasted and others may want to read the whole article you are quoting from. Here is the link.

This country is full of lazy asses that don't work, and don't try to simply because they get government assistance for being a lazy ass. As far as medicaid goes, these people not only don't pay for their own health care, but can waive their co-pays when they go to the pharmacy to get their pain meds that they are addicted to. My opinion: Sterilize all males while on government assistance, and give all females the BC shot while on government assistance. If they can't show proof of having this done, they don't get their check for being a lazy ass.

+1. Not only get addicted to pain med, but also sell them to others:cool:. I deal with them daily. I told them if you have pain all the time, you need to seek pain doctor. I am not a drug supplier.
