Would anyone want to buy this if I started making these?

I made a custom ac vent gauge system, similar to the Impact Magic one. My set up is fiberglassed (I don't normally work with CF) and allow a ton of air to come out still, although not directional. I'm not sure how quick I could make these or if it would be worth it to me to make them, but if there is interest I'm willing to pay the vendor fees and start a batch. The digital gauge system below it is still in Beta and will be available shortly. Not sure what the price is going to be but wanted to settle somewhere 300 or below. The pods are not permanently fixed in, but are mounted very securely using a custom bracket, the hoods are reversible so that they are facing the ceiling instead.

let me know what you guys think.

I have a pair of Autometer 2 5/8" gauges I would like to house. How modular is your design to accept various gauges?

the current set up I have are for the 52mm gauges If my memory serves me right, I'll look into sizing it for bigger gauges and get back to you

here is another angle

That looks amazing!

Can you give more information on the screen on the bottom? Feel free to pm as well.

I like the look but one of my NSX's is black on black and I HAVE to have direction for the A/C it can get to be an Oven in there.

have you thought about doing this same setup in a modified NAVPOD? or 2 gauges mounted on both sides of the navpod

We'll I made these so I wouldn't have to do the navpod. I personally hate the nav pod, it's bulky and looks like two camel humps from outside the car. As far as directional a/c, it gets hot in Hawaii and it coils my car no problem.

Er cools

If you decide to produce these, let me know. I loved the prototype I saw in person and have been trying to find an elegant (reversible?) solution to mounting gauges for my future FI setup. Since I referred you to the car you now own, can I get a friendly discount? lol

I would be interested... Kind of remind me of 350z gauges. I would love to fit 60 mm blitz gauges... That's what I always wanted.

i am interested, i bought the nav pod but have not installed it because i feel the same like it looks like an afterthought

I'd also like to mention I think I could make blanks, essentially the fiberglassed outside piece enclosed completely around and put a fiberglass blank sheet in the front middle. Essentially giving you the ability to cut your own circles or rectangles to install something like a EDFC and a gauge, or turbo timer and a AVCR etc. I'd have to give this some more thought since filling the whole thing would eliminate your A/C from this particular vent, but if you are cutting stuff anyways I suppose you could do a small mesh or cut tiny holes to let the air out. The biggest issues is the viewing angle when it comes to putting larger things in them, sure you could put some pretty large things, but unless you were 6'4 with the targa off, you wouldnt be able to see it. So I have to do some more testing when time allows for gauges bigger then 52mm and different combinations like an EDFC and a gauge.

Just revisiting this real quick, So far only 4 people are interested in this. I'd need something probably closer to 10 to actually work out a good mold, purchase a vendor status, and reproduce these. Just bumping one more time to make sure this is everyone. Thanks!

what are the gauges in there now? what is that screen at the bottom?

I'd be interested if aem gauges fit in there. I hate having mine in the ash tray location.

The screen hooks up only to the AEM EMS, it is a self contained unit that has a serial in and a vga out, the future prototypes will have an analog out as well to hook up to double din units or you can use a converter. At the moment it is still in Beta, but it is working flawlessly. The background you see now is only the one that comes with the unit. If you can dream it up in photoshop, you can make whatever background you want. Anything that AEM reads you can have it displayed on the screen in real time. You can track the progress on this thread

As far as the gauges are concerned, they would most likely be for 52mm gauges only. The viewing angle for anything bigger would be a little difficult but I'm not ruling it out; my viewing angle is at a perspective of 5'6" sooooo most of you guys could probably get away with something that points a littler higher. Since the Impact magic one is able to accommodate two 60mm gauges, I will revisit it; they use a hood on top of theres well I do not, mine appear to be far more recessed. I have pro sport gauges in there now http://prosportgauges.com/premium_series_peak_warning_gauges.aspx because of a sponsorship, but they work very well and are affordable.

I have a few weeks free coming up in a bit, I'll work on the molds and keep everyone posted.

As far as the AEM system is concerned, I am only a Beta tester. I'm working on becoming a distributor, but apparently someone has already been given that position for the NSX community. If that is the case I'll do my best to forward all questions and inquiries to him. Until then, if you have any questions please feel free to PM me. Thanks
