If I purchase the Zanardi Edition / Type-S Shift Knob & Leather Boot from SOS is there anything else I need to replace my stock 6 speed leather shifter on my 1997 NSX-T? Will the height be lower or the same as my stock shift knob? Any NSX Prime discounts? I sent SOS an email but got no response....

Contact Louis (Advans CPAP), he is also able to get JDM items. If you want the shift knob to work, or sit lower, you also need the Type-S Shift Lever. It will allow the shift knob to be mounted lower than your stock shift lever.

His thread is here:

You cannot go wrong with either Louis, or SoS as far as customer service goes.

I am ok if the Zanardi knob is at the same level as the stock knob so I assume I don't need to change the shift lever too.

Are you going to buy the OEM knob or the SoS version?
I've a used but as new OEM knob, boot lever for sale if the price is right. Lever has never been mounted.

Looking at the OEM Zanardi knob & the leather boot as shown on SOS.

I believe if you just change to the Zanardi knob, the position will be higher than your original. This will stretch your shift boot in some positions and not be optimal.

I think you are right. I plan to pick up the leather boot for the Zanardi shift knob as well.

Zanardi shift boot out of stock at SOS and no longer available from the dealer.

I just ordered one direct from Japan for a customer and it will be hear in a few days.
Please PM me what you can get me a Zanardi shift boot for. Does it have black stitching? I have a 1997 NSX-T and I plan to use it with a Zanardi shift knob and Type S shift lever. Thanks.
