Sorry it took me so long to reply. You have to take the door panel off. I had the power window actuator off also, but it's been a while since I did it. I can't remember if that helped access or not. I don't know if you've had window actuator trouble or not, but while you have the door panel off it might be worth checking the lube on everything associated with the window. Grease on mine had coagulated into a gritty paste, stressing even more, the weak design.

Do I need to open the door panel or go from the top to replace the switch
