Price for a non snap ring tranny?

I'm selling my 91 and have short gear tranny installed in the car. A buddy convinced me to keep the original incase someone wanted to do a restoration project. I'm selling the car 160k miles and priced the car with the extra tranny. $31500 not listed here. Not interested in out of state buyers...

    Clutch master cylinder rebuild?

Wow, thanks, I did get the snap ring out but it looks like it there is an internal ridge that would stop it from sliding out. I'll try the compressed air today and post pics. On a separate note...Do you know Keith Ansel? He known nation wide as a big time antique British car mechanic. He has a...

    Clutch master cylinder rebuild?

Ahhh. So someone has done this before! I have rebuilt the calipers and getting things apart was not a big deal. The compressed air part is essential to getting the pistons out. Not sure how the master comes apart. I just assumed that the rod simply pulls out or unscrews. Again vintage...

    Clutch master cylinder rebuild?

Thank you all for the quick responses. Sounds like my local Acura parts guy is off. I'm intrigued with the idea of rebuilding it myself. Sounds like no one has actually done this yet. Long term we (first geners) will be like the vintage 64 corvette guys with limited options. I'm going to take...

    Clutch master cylinder rebuild?

Ok the master is slowly weep leaking into the car. I remember fixing this years ago and I thought they had a rebuild kit from Acura. Dealer says no such kit exists today and replacement masters vary from $240 (shipped from dealer) to $140 Dali racing. They seem to be on backorder so I don't...

You are crazy! Brilliant, resourceful, clever, talented and gifted but totally crazy! From one who could never take on such a project. Wish I was taking a trip to Sweden soon. I’d love to see the finished product.

    1991 "Factory Fresh" Build

What are you going to do about the carpets (replace or clean)? How many miles on your car? My car is at 148k and I need to take the carpets out to really clean them. How hard after you get the seats out? Cal PS used to live in Parker, moved to Washington state about 5 years ago. Really miss the...

Meeyatch1 + Detroit Auto Show Press Day + NSX unveiling = AWESOME!!

You're right! This thing looks ... well too bad for words. My most memorable images of just how good my 91 is: Having a kid not more than 6 yrs old stop and point at MY 20YR old classic with a dropped mouth. I mean he just stopped a pointed at me as I drove up to a building like he had seen a...

AC, alternator belts - so what else?

I've owned the car for the bulk of the miles/years and the last time the belts were changed were at 77k miles. They looked fine at that time. Seems like most folks just drivem until they start to show wear. Guess technology has made repalcement at shorter intervals unnecessary.

AC, alternator belts - so what else?

I'm over due for a general belt change. Nothing I can see directing how long you should go (miles or years) on a ac or alternator belt. I'm not sure if there is a water pump belt or if it's internally driven. Any other belts I need to do? The timing belt is a whole separate issue and I'm up to...
