I remember several months ago, almost a year I guess, when the NSX was just out and the fanboys were feeling jubilant; fastaussie and I were ridiculed for anything negative said regarding the NSX replacement. I recall saying that the price is to plummet in short order due to lack of demand...
He is the main target to hit when talking of the failure that the NSX replacement is. He was the project lead.
My point is being made by the hundreds if not thousands of people around the globe who having seen what the NSX is, have decided to look elsewhere.
Some easily fooled people were...
You say this and I say this with the hope that HONDA will listen and do the right thing that can make the NSX replacement the great car it can and should be.
Unfortunately, the fanboys are so blinded by their love that HONDA, if they care to look at this forum, must think they have the best...
Very true and completely logical reasoning.
But saying the logical is frequently the cause of the "fan boys" getting all unhappy on this forum
Increasing HP can improve the already quick acceleration numbers but it would do little for the handling.
Unless a car is light, no matter how much power it is putting down, its mass will be felt in the corners, in transition, in breaking etc.
Unfortunately Honda have gone the way of the heavy...
Overall, a pretty good and positive review.
The one negative thing that stood out for me was this :
"Touted as the everyday supercar, the NSX is certainly comfortable and intuitive enough for just about anyone to use as a daily driver. But its cabin doesn’t have the premium feel and luxurious...
Good question.
People who know how to drive a performance FWD know how much safer and therefore faster one can go in a fwd car especially when the engineering might of Honda is behind them. There is a reason the Type R has become a legend in Europe and soon in the US.
This is when Honda is at its finest. Pure performance, lightness, ferocity of purpose and the proper use of world class technology.
Awesome machine! Well done Honda!
Concur with most of what you are saying except that quality and cost really do not go hand in hand.
A Ferrari 488 is likely much less reliable than a 911 GT3 or the current NSX for instance.
Mercedes and BMW are far less reliable than Toyota for that matter.
The NSX is a failure propped up by excuses by fan boys who cannot stomach the fact that HONDA blundered and they were themselves fooled by the hype.
I can imagine the conversation at the headquarters, what a quagmire they have landed themselves into.
Just spent an ungodly sum on crazy tech to...
Very true. Now more than ever, a "super car" has to win its colors based on its performance creds and "presence" and not just because it is as reliable as an Accord :)
Ultimate reliability differentials in two cars that both have well above reliability is no longer enough reason to pick one over the other.
Reasonable and good reliability is almost a given these days especially among some brands like Porsche, Lexus, Acura etc.
Porsche have attained a strong...
