Took a guy for a ride during hot laps at Road America a few weeks ago. He drives a race prepped M3. He was impressed.

    All season tires?

I know we're going into the wrong season, but if you drive your car year-round in the northern areas, I have some Continentals for sale. http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/215802-Continental-ExtremeContact-DWS06-for-sale

    Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 for sale

On my way to COTA from Iowa last month I ran into bad weather and had to swap my PS4S for all weather tires in order to finish my trip. I don't normally drive the NSX in the winter, so I'm selling them now that I'm back home. They have 2000 highway miles and a total of 4 hours of moderate...

    Has anyone replaced brake fluid?

I figured it out. The first bleed is labeled as "Between Tandem Motor Cylinder and Brake Caliper" which means the servo system must be activated and the valves to the master cylinder closed. This graphic I found explains that mode. Open the door and turn the ignition ON within three minutes.

    Has anyone replaced brake fluid?

Thanks for the reply. My info above is from the techinfo article on replacing the brake fluid, which is why it's frustrating that they didn't explain it very clearly for the first bleed. My car is put away for the winter, which is when I do all of my maintenance. I'm taking it out for a trip...

    Has anyone replaced brake fluid?

I'm due to replace and I have a question about the sequence. The service manual lists two separate bleeds when replacing the fluid. On the SECOND bleed it says to turn the vehicle off, wait three minutes and do not open or close the door. However, it doesn't say what state the car should be...

    Track Review at Gingerman

drmanny's explanation is spot on. i'll just add that the other reason for brake by wire is to remove the jerky feel of traditional hybrid regen braking. You'd never know this car uses regen thanks to the electronics that blend regen and hydro. It's really great on the track. Here's a lap of...

First track day in '20 NSX

Great info. I am running stock alignment that was verified after the fuel tank recall. I've not considered going that low on hot pressures, but it's worth a try. It's definitely slippage overheating them later in sessions. I'm not after optimal lap times, just having fun, but it does get...

First track day in '20 NSX

Jimmy, curious what tire pressures you ran. I have PS4 and have been disappointed in them. I start at 30 psi cold. They are 40-41 before the end of a 20 minute run and start to get pretty slippery after 38 or so. I can't seem to find the sweet spot with them. R888R are likely my next tire...

    ARCAN XL2T Floor Jack

I've had this lift for a few years. It's great because you can remove and store the posts out of the way when not in use, and it fits under the NSX at stock height without ramps. Any lower than stock though you will need ramps. https://www.maxjaxusa.com/dannmar-maxjax-standard-package.html

Other than Oil Changes what maintenace have you done?

Every 5000 miles or yearly on all of my cars for oil/filter and air filters. It's cheap if you DIY and makes me feel confident the engines are protected. I know it's overkill for modern engines and synthetic oil, but it's my money, my time and my peace of mind :) Generally every three years for...

Anyone else wonder why we need a 50lb lead starter battery?

From the owner's manual Battery Types There are two types of batteries used in this vehicle; a standard 12-volt battery that powers the airbags, the interior and exterior lights, and other standard 12-volt systems; and a High Voltage battery that is used to power the propulsion motors and...

The official real $$$price of the iron rotors!!!

Yes, the dust is bad and is the trade off for crazy stopping power. I lose about 1mm off the fronts and 1.5mm off the rears on an average track day. The wheels are nasty nasty nasty after. My Lexus GS F-Sport brakes are pretty dusty too and so are my 997 brakes. I guess I've given up and...

The official real $$$price of the iron rotors!!!

Oddly enough, the iron pads are more expensive than the CCB, but rotors are a different story. The iron rear pads are around $580 and the front $630. I've gone through a set of both and getting there on another set of rears. 10,000 miles with 11 or 12 track days. If you measure them with the...
