What inspired you to pick your user name/avatar?

It' s perversion of Vmo- velocity maximum operating, my son's name is Max. Vmax reflects the need for speed. I used to do a lot of motorcycle racing and Max at 14 and his first time at the wheel did 80 in a jeep liberty on the Bonneville Salt flats while suffering a high fever.

Wheels Hubcentric or Lugcentric and steering wheel vibration

I had very much the same problem with the same attempt at fixes. At the recommendation of docjohn I got rid of my old tires (which had plenty of tread and were balanced) for a set of dunlop direzza's. Vibration that mimics improper wheel balance now 99% gone. I suspect that the car sat for...

    TCS on or off?

What kind of studded knobbies are ya runnin in the ice. Just kidding but I would like to know how the car reacts on a wide, high speed, sweeping turn with really good traction, when it breaks loose with tcs on and off. Please share. Thanks. On for now. The car doesn't know what rain/snow/ice is.

Who has the lowest mileage car (by year)?

1992: 19,000 Just turned 19,000 on my 60th birthday..exciting day...had to lock it up twice to avoid being hit then the L. window regulator died (window drop) at the PA turnpike booth. A beer at Victorys in Downingtown was very welcome.

Gojira, Look for the simple first but a lot of cars made in the 90's had bad capacitors and my 92 with 18,000 mi. on it had both the radio and the auto temp controller fail because of it. Each item runs about $2000. I bought a new stock radio (supposedly the last one left in the country)...

At what age did you buy your first NSX?

At 58...being old sucks more but I finally got a really nice 92 nsx a little over a year ago. So how's the old joke go about being old.. "You buy a Volvo because you like the way it looks" Very old joke as Volvos have stylishly evolved. I was just on line looking at 1958 Desotos and having...

    Everybody else have this poster?

No but, it looks as if it should have 4 doors like the Porche Panamera which by the way is the perfect car to slam your family around in while you are fancying yourself as a racer.

What weight oil and brand is everyone using?

Mobil 1 10w30 for older cars-got some zinc. Change it once a year which is about 1,500 miles. Use the drain oil for snow blowers etc.

A smoker while I was filling up.

+2 still not a great idea as are cell phones by the pumps or in aircraft. The aircraft thing is an anomaly that has been proven to be possible. While myth busters is a quick tv stab at finding out the truth a lot of problems can only be duplicated under nearly impossible conditions.

    Colors?

Gotta say Berlina has a ring to it, any history there?

    Colors?

Were there any other blacks besides berlina black? That is the specific name that I see mentioned most. If not then just black should work.

Say goodbye to seat bolster wear!

At what age did you buy your first NSX?

58 going on 12. Wow I really feel old now. It's great to see how many in their 20's are owning an NSX. This blows me away that, that generation would show such an interest. My 16 year old tells me that the NSX is the holy grail of rice burners. I think that he may be right. When they first...

    changing transmision fluids

I will thanks you now! My NSX does not have a shift problem but my 91 Dodge stealth(132.000mi) did. Occasionally grinding between 1st and 2nd. I did the cocktail and the difference was huge! No grinding and shifts better than when it was new. I will keep this cocktail on the ready in my bar...
