Hi everyone,

Looking for some help with the following.

I'm currently running 18" BBS RGR front and rear fitment from Tirerack. Specs are as follows:

Front
18x7.5
Offset: 45
Backspacing: 6.06"
215/35/18

Rear
18x9
Offset: 42
Backspacing 6.67"
275/35/18

I'd like to swap the fronts with a 17" BBS RGR to get back to the staggered setup. I've located a set that has the following specs:

17x8
Offset: 40
Backspacing: 6.14"
No tires installed

Any thoughts on the fitment of the 17 front set and recommendation for tire sizes?

I'm running Bilsteins on the lower perch with stock springs. This is for my '93 BB.

Thanks!

215/40/17 and 265/35/18 tire sizes.

These rim sizes and offsets seem fine.

Not sure what backspacing is though?

Rear 18x9 +42 is NOT ideal for the rear.

If you decide to pair this with the 17x8 +40, the front will be more flush with the fender than the rear will be (you'll need about a 20mm spacer in the rear to make it the same flushness).

I would definitely go 18x9.5 +30 to +38 if you can find one.

Lastly a 18x9 with a 275/35/18 tire will have a "bubbling" effect since the wheel is so narrow and the tire is so wide. I find the best combo is a 18x9.5 with a 265/35/18 tire...

According to Neal (alum04org) front 17x8 +40 requires a 5mm spacer to clear calipers.
