My taxes are probably among the top 1-2% complexity wise. I used to do it all using the better turbo tax package but now let a CPA do a couple portions of it. I spent an easy 50-60 hours last year on the portions I did myself. If you know what you need to do, turbo tax will work fine. If you aren't sure, it's capabilities in reminding you are always going to be limited. I had a couple investments in foreign countries that were structured in an unusual fashion and turbo tax had no idea what to do with them.
