'95 and '97 are the same, though different from earlier years. Also, front coils and rear coils have different part numbers, but are probabaly interchangeable for quick troubleshooting. I believe only the seals are different between front and rear.
'91-'94 NSXes have OBD-I diagnostics; '95-'05 NSXes have OBD-II diagnostics and therefore require a different, 3-pin design. So the difference is in the design for OBD-I or OBD-II applications. '91 through '94 coil packs are interchangeable and '95 through '05 coil packs are interchangeable.
The '91-'94 coil packs seem to be harder to find and cost a lot more. This apparently is a function of supply (less) and demand (more).
