If you look on other "performance" car sections on e-bay, you'll notice the same "device". When I was tricking out my '99 M3, I bought one just for the hell of it, although I already had my ECU re-programmed by RMS. Well, I got it, opened it up . . . . and, well, just so I don't get sued, there's NOTHING in there that's gonna give you any change in any performance parameter !

Usually these are some kind of a resistor that tricks your ECU into thinking the intake air is a different temperature. :S
