To the FlowMaster owners, will it get louder? Its okay but I think I was expecting the FM to be louder. Additionally, does it make much of a difference if I changed the diameter of the stock to the diameter of the outlets on the FM? Please advise!

Does it sound sort of like a street rod and just get louder at higher RPM's?
I drove one and waited for it to get higher pitched at higher RPM's and it just didn't seem to want to. Stayed at a very low pitch and just got louder.
Is this the case?

Do you have pictures of your installation? What series muffler did you use? There is a rumor that flowmaster mufflers get louder with time, but I've never noticed it on any of my cars.

It will get louder and settle within a few weeks. Mine was kinda tame at first but after a few hundred miles... WOW! Then I took the cats off and put on test pipes... HOLLY SH!T BATMAN!!! The FM will scream at higher RPMs, and growl at lower RPMs. I love my exhaust note.

Hope this helps.

I have no personal experience with FM, but looking at the construction of the canisters, there is no packing material to blow out like other canisters. Instead, they have chambers. So I'm not sure what may contribute to sound changes in time. ICBW though.

Most likely the 80 series are used on our cars.

Absolutely the best sounding exhaust for the NSX I have heard. And no the exhaust tone should not change, as stated above there is no packing to settle or blow out. And NO it doesn't sound like a street rod, it now sounds like the exotic that it is.
