Help with Purchase JH4NA2162VT00028

I've agreed to buy a '97 NSX here in Houston pending a Pre Purchase Inspection by Carl at Sterling McCall, and completing a second review of the maintenance records (my first view was just a quick look). I was told that the vehicle was purchased from the original owner in Oklahoma, but the carfax report, below (sorry, I could not figure out how to attache the file so I just copied the report to this request), indicates that there was only one owner and has no records for the period of time before the car moved to Texas.

Does anyone have any additional information that I should be aware of before I finalize the deal.

A summary of the Carfax report is below. My potential confusion is related to the statement that there is one owner, when according to the current owner there have been two.

With as much insight as there is within the network of PRIME members, I was hoping that if anyone out there had any additional knowledge about the history of the car, that they share it with me.


I believe that though each of these entries reference the title or registration, most of them are just state inspection records in Texas but there are a couple that may indicate change of ownership (in bold). I plan to follow up with the current owner, but thought I would ask anyway.

Hey Don,

If it helps you at all I ran an autocheck on this VIN and it returned 2 owners, one in OK and one in TX with the switch happening around 24k miles or so. Other than a few failed emissions inspections the report is very clean and the highest total score of any NSX i've run so far. Email me and I can reply back with the report for you.
