Hi Aussie NSXers,

Tomorrow, after 30 years of disguise behind a beard, I will shave in the name of MOvember!.....not a small feat for someone whose chin has not seen daylight in decades.....

So I am appealing to you generous Ozzies to support my efforts and give a few $$ in the name of Research into a couple of problems close to my "heart"

Take a little time to read the detail below and follow the info to donate......remember, it could be your arse that's on the line one day!

thanks to all,

Mike

Hi All,

During Movember (the month formerly known as November) I'll be growin a Mo. That's right I'm bringing the Mo back because I'm passionate about changing men's health and the fight against male depression and prostate cancer. Why...

Depression affects 1 in 6 men...Most don't seek help. Untreated depression is a leading risk factor for suicide.
Last year in Australia 18,700 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer and more than 2,900 died of prostate cancer - equivalent to the number of women who die from breast cancer annually.
Men are far less healthy than women. The average life expectancy of males is 5 years less than females.
To sponsor my Mo please go to http://www.movember.com/au/donate, enter my registration number which is 90047 and your credit card details. Or you can sponsor me by cheque made payable to the "Movember Foundation" clearly marking the donation as being for my Registration Number: 90047. Please mail cheques to: PO Box 292, Prahran VIC 3181. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

The money raised by Movember is donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue - the national depression initiative, which will use the funds to create awareness, fund research and increase support networks for those men who suffer from prostate cancer and male depression.

For those that have supported Movember in previous years you can be very proud of the impact it has had and can check out the detail at: Fundraising Outcomes.

Movember culminates at the end of the month at the Gala Partés. These glamorous and groomed events will see Tom Selleck and Borat look-a-likes battle it out for their chance to take home the prestigious Man of Movember title. If you would like to be part of this great night you'll need to purchase a Gala Parté ticket .

Thanks for your support

Michael

More info is available at www.movember.com.

Movember is proudly grown by Commonwealth Bank, Holden, Schick and VB.

Movember is proud partners with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue - the national depression initiative.

I read a study that suggests frequent masturbation by men in their 20s provides protection against prostate cancer later in life.

Scientists in Australia determined that men in their 20s who ejaculated more than five times a week were a third less likely to develop aggressive prostate cancer later in life.

The study suggests ejaculation by means of masturbation provides better protection than ejaculation in sexual intercourse because men can pick up infections from intercourse that actually increase the risk of getting prostate cancer.

The Australian team was headed by Graham Giles of The Cancer Council of Victoria in Melbourne.

The team asked 1,079 men with prostate cancer to detail their sexual habits. The responses were compared with those of 1,259 healthy men.

The team concluded that the more men between the ages of 20 and 50 masturbate, the less likely they are to develop prostate cancer. The study emphasizes that this is especially so for men in their 20s.

"The more you flush the ducts out, the less there is to hang around and damage the cells that line them," Giles said in New Scientist magazine.

"Masturbation is part of people's sexual repertoire," said Anthony Smith, deputy director of the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at La Trobe University in Melbourne. "If these findings hold up, then it's perfectly reasonable that men should be encouraged to masturbate."

Hi Guys......MOvember was a HUGE sucess with over $10,000,000 being raised to support research into Prostate Cancer and Depression. Personally, I was fortunate to have great sponsors who contributed $1100 to me and with my team , we raised $2500......a fabulous effort and my sincere thanks to all the NSX community who helped out.

I have reverted to my old self with a "beard crop" likely in the near future....as a guy who has no lips and more chins than a Chinese telephone book, I think I will stay hairy for another 30 Years!

Again, many thanks,

Mike
