Wow, I hope you told Pete about our little 160 page 'spotting' thread here....and encouraged him to post up (or at least check in ;-)

Look who is back and able to post again?!!!?!

Been a real busy week, but I still wanted to post up on the Acura Car Corral weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course last weekend, May 3-5, 2019.
Firstly, THANK YOU ACURA for sponsoring this event - if not for the volumes of rain it would have been perfect!

A certain flagger telephoned Thursday evening, May 2nd, to advise Mid-O was parking campers/motor homes/etc. on the main entrance/exit road to the infield. Also, that the usual campgrounds were not being used. All due to extreme rainfall and water-soaked grounds. I delayed my Friday arrival at Mid-O while watching NOAA color radar, as a large storm/thunderstorms were enveloping Mid-O.

I entered the complex at 315 pm, drove to the infield noting one side of the main entrance/exit road was covered with campers and motor homes, and upon arriving to the infield parking area it was OBVIOUSLY going to be a weekend challenge. NEVER seen it this wet and water-logged :frown:
Had to find a place on high ground, and keep one side of my NSX on the berm of the gravel roadway.

With only one lane open each direction into/out of the infield my plan became clear - very early in and late out. Enjoyed practice day Friday. Saturday brought a brisk north wind, drizzle, rain, in upper 40's - tough day to spectate. Lots of track runoffs due to wet and pooling water.

ACURA sponsored weekend general admission passes, infield and car corral parking, tasty lunches, paddock and fan area visits for us, and on Saturday after the conclusion of races we got four (4) Parade Laps behind a new NSX Pace Car.

On Friday evening a presentation from L to R: Montoya, Castronieves, Heinricher, Nielsen, Legghe, and M. Shank.

On Saturday evening, in the rain, parade lap formation. I was waved in first, right behind the NSX pace car. O.K.!

At the end of the first pace lap, coming out of the Carousel and onto the home straight, I got on the happy pedal a bit too hard. Back end started to step out  Man that track was slick as snot - three hours of racing had pounded a lot of rubber into the track surface, and then the rain on top of it - damn! Don't wanna be that guy that spins it out or wads it up on a parade lap. Happened twice more, too. As a result at times around the track I didn't WANT to keep up with the all-wheel drive pace car!

And leaving the track from the pit area:

Sunday finally brought some dry weather, but overcast. Weather-guessers again just plain wrong. Sun finally came out at about 1 PM. The main race (IMSA WeatherTech) was awesome as usual, and Acura made a super showing

NSX's still get a LOT of loving, nice compliments, and looks. Thanks again, Acura!

When is anyone getting together to do a drive? I think the next Cars and Coffee in Toledo is Sunday June 9th. Anyone interested?

Hi All - Hope everyone’s summer is off to a good start, and sorry to be such a stranger on here. I bumped into Neal at the spring PCPS drive, helping to bring up the NSX count.

I have news: My BaT application has been approved, so my 91 is going up for sale soon! So if anyone knows anyone in the market....

My NSX ownership experience has been phenomenal, in no small part thanks to the advice, counsel, and occasional selling of parts to me by this group.

I will likely regret this.

Dave good to hear from you. Activity on Prime seems much less than in years past. I have mostly good memories (except for that one almost oops moment) of following behind you in the Hocking Hills at the NSXPO we both attended some years ago. I hope all is going well for you and your family. What is your next toy going to be? Any interest in the new NSX? I'm looking for a partner. Think about it -- we can work out a fractional ownership arrangement on both my minty /94 and a new one! Best,Jeff

I picked up my first NSX ('91) a few months ago and would look forward to meeting other NSX owners in the area and doing some driving.I'm also looking for an Acura dealer with an experienced NSX technician to look at a few things... any suggestions? The closest Acura dealer to me is in Troy.

Hey Dave5 yea I was surprised to see you at the PCPS event  I recall you mentioned last summer that you might be ready to move on from your Berlina blk NSX, so glad you at least got "blessed" and accepted at BAT. Sure provides for a worldwide exposure. Good luck with it. Goes without saying but us Primers will always want to hear from you so don't be a stranger here...

WELCOME 2jeffz:positive:

Call Suburban Honda, Haggerty Road in F'ton Hills, ask service manager if you brought in your NSX could Mike Michalik be the ONLY one that works on it. We have a good long history with Mike and trust him completely.

Sunday forecast has improved. Anyone want to visit the Baker's Cruise-In?

I am located in Monroe and looking for a technician to do a timing belt for me. The car is a 1992. I tried contacting Mike at Suburban Honda, but was told he is no longer working on them and the service manager said they won't be taking any NSXs anymore. Looks like I missed the boat. Any other options? Thanks.

wow....Mike out of the mix? A big loss.

Source One is used by a lot of folks. Probably your best bet.

Anthonym6. I live west of TOLEDO and will be needing a timing belt change in a year or so. I will likely go with this suggestion...its north of Cincinnati. Hope to see you at an event. I Often go to TOLEDO Cars and Coffee. I have a 95 NSX.

Thanks for the info. That's a bit of a drive.

I had the TB, WP, coolant hoses and other things done at source 1 last summer. My only complaint was the coolant reservoir was near empty and my 02 sensor needed to be replaced, which should of been noticeable after the vehicle was warmed up. I towed my car there then I drove the 3 hours back home when it was completed.

That's unfortunate. Sounds exactly like the trip I would have to make, and that wouldn't be an experience I would like to have. Anyone else have any history with dealers in Michigan or Ohio?

If anyone's free this Saturday morning, I'd recommend coming out to the Cars & Coffee at The Inn at St. John's in Plymouth! It's an annual event that precedes the Concours d'Elegance on Sunday. I went last year and it's one of the highest quality, biggest, and most diverse C&C I've ever seen -- definitely something for everyone.

Last time the entire parking lot was filled by 8am, so I'd suggest arriving early if you'd like to grab a spot. I'll be there in the Autozam -- hope to see some familiar faces!

I'll be thete... and at Battle of the Brands on Saturday night.

tbox: Were you at that Octane place on Telegraph a few Saturday mornings ago with the Autozam? If that was yours, I was really digging it!

I would love to do something next weekend. I’m finally back in the country and still jet lagged, the Telegraph cruise is today but I have no energy to go. Is there a spectator fee for tomorrow’s C&C?

I was there for the C&C at St. John, but they told me the lot was full by 8:50am or so. I parked across the street. Some sweet cars there, I did see someone's black NA1 there mostly stock.

that was the only NSX I saw... but I did see a silver one on Sunday driving by St John's...
