Multi-position ladders?

So I’m flipping through the cannels and stumbled across the Little Giant ladder infomercial and I decided it’s time to upgrade my 20 year old 6’ wood A-frame with something a little more current and flexible. Pricing for the Type 1A-22 model is $400 where ever you look, but in doing some research, I found 2 competitors that sell similar ladders for about half the cost. One is made by Gorilla, their AL-22 and the other by Werner model MT-22. They are all multi-position aluminum ladders and seem similar on the surface. I’m guessing you pretty much get what you pay for, but I’m curious to know if anyone has any of these and can tell me why I should pay double for a LG. (I used the search feature and found the most recent post to be in 2005 so I thought I'd seek new opinions).
FYI..this would be for using around the house, not for commercial or business applications.

Yup. This definitely qualifies for the “off topic“ forum...

You mean, like this?

Spend the extra money and buy the little giant, go to ebay and you can save some money. I bought one recently and it was 30% under list with free shipping and no sales tax. This is the third one I have bought, I decided to get another one so I wasn't carrying my personal one back and forth to my office.

I have the LG 17'. I got mine at Target for $100. Can you believe that? It was so random, I'd been looking at the other brands and was at the local Target store one day and they had them on clearance. I rushed right over to the cashier just to make sure I got it... What a steal...

Yesterday, for the first time, I had to fully extend it to trim some branches overhanging the roof and while I'm a bit fearful of heights, I felt pretty secure on the ladder. That's the best endorsement I can give it. :)

I'll keep looking but the only new one's on eBay right now that were less than list price were the older version without the wheels.

Always wondered about these ladders when I saw the infomercial. Good to see some real world feedback as opposed to the paid goons on the ad. Might have to look into one now.

BTW if I ever see an NSX in the background of one of those infomercials I'll know its fixed.

We have an lg that we got at sam's club I think it was 300.As a word of caution it is heavy which kinda rules out 1 woman operation. If you try to position it in the fully extended position to get up to a roof and such it can be a challenge for one man as well.

Now Sams and Costco have a copy for ~$130.

And it's getting great reviews Google "cosco worlds greatest" and the building inspectors are using them. I've had mine for about a year.

I've got the Werner version of this ladder (MT-22), purchased via Amazon about two years ago. Was less expensive than the Little Giant, seems to have the same features. It's nice to be able to climb up either side, offset the ladder to get close to gutters for cleaning, etc. Adjustments are easily made and it is very sturdy.

The only drawback is the weight; it's not easy to lug around.

Got one at Costco years ago. Works great. Same/similar product as the Little Giant, at a fraction of the cost.

Maybe one like this?
