Rear tires

It's time to replace the rear tires on my 2000. The stock 245-40-17s are no longer available. Tire Rack has a set of Bridgestone Potenza -S- 02A 255-40-17s. They have a tread wear rating of 140 and are listed as replacements for Porsche. I know they are a size up from the stock size. Will they fit without rubbing? Are they a suitable replacement for a Florida driven car? Thanks in advance. Jerry

I've been using 215/45/16 and 255/40/17 since forever. I think the only time I had 245s in the rear was when I bought the car with Ecsta XS.

Fit wise, depends on your suspension setup. Stock height, alignment is fine. Lowered on Bilstein is fine too. There is enough clearance between the inner wall and the spring lower perch.

I've been using Falken Azenis RT615 for a decade.
255/40/17 rear
215/45/16 fronts
They work great.
