What does ebay private auction do?

the 98 automatic from FT MEYERS previously said sold at least
once. Now it is back again as a "private auction". What is the purpose-other than making a "SHILL BID" easier

Reviewing my notes it previously said "doucati" and ALSO
showed "luckyskarbiz " as winning bidders. I have a feeling that both these BIDDERS NAMES--spelled backwards---comes out
SHILL. This guy is stuck with the 98 auto with the VIN

We will probably see another NO RESERVE bid on this car!

You see private auctions on a lot of big ticket items. Sometimes you don't want people knowing and trying to privately negotiate with your bidders. Likewise - some people don't want others to know what they are bidding on.
