anyone know what the common problems are with the window motors, i just bought one and the window doesnt work any ideas?

At the top of your screen you will see a red bar that looks like this:
Click on the word "FAQ" which will take you to the answers to Frequently Asked Questions. Go to Troubleshooting and then Power Windows.
You will probably need to buy a new window regulator. If your car is a '91-93 then I suggest buying one of the fix-it thingies for the other side of your car, which has not yet failed; installing this inexpensive part will prevent having to replace the other side too.
