I am currently producing a new exhaust system for the non forced induction crowd (N/A) it is similar to the awesome GruppeM exhaust , only it is compatible with all years , and it is compatible with the factory cats , also build quality is better , as the welds are nicer and components are higher quality.

The exhaust is called the AP-X ver.1

Pics and links to sound clips are posted below .

This exhaust lists for $1795

Fits '91-'96 without adapters , 97-99 requires adapters , 00-05 requires different adapters

It is made with stainless mufflers , 2.25 stainless tubing , with 2.5 after the mufflers into 4" double walled tips.

One cool feature is the Y-pipe is connected to the muffler with a V-band clamp , allowing it to be run as a straight pipe or in the future I could offer optional center exit etc.

*** Weight is 24 LBS***

Thanks for looking.

Wil

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emmisions compliant)

Hi,

i would like it to be;

- very light... like ARC titanium.....5 or 6Kg of total weight
- one of the best performance gains
- no ressonating inside the car at any rpm
- the sound not to be like a direct pipe system, meaning, not loud as hell

well.... you asked for it :tongue:

Thanks,
Nuno

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emmisions compliant)

My Gruppe-M V2 was awesome less for the dreaded 3500rpm drone. It sounded great at any RPM. It looked sexy from the rear, was easy as hell to keep clean. I really miss it.................except that drone.:frown: Will you be offering single/quad tips options?

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emmisions compliant)

I may offer quad tips , depending on the demand. But for now , dual 4" tips.

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emmisions compliant)

^^^^Wow, that does sound good! I like

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emmisions compliant)

This is essentially what I am building , it will look more like gruppem , but with the same "x-pipe" style design. The thing that I have realized is that the nsx needs to have the two banks merged into one to get a nice sound.

Good luck

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emmisions compliant)

With any luck , I will have pics and sound clips / video posted by tomorrow night!

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emmisions compliant)

i vote for:

lightweight
+hp gains
good price

that's all i really care about.

pretty much a competitor for the taitec gt lightweight exhaust.

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emmisions compliant)

Ya know I believe the X pipe makes a big difference in sound quality {better that is}.

Yes , this is a key feature , I could easily make an exhaust with no x-pipe for a lot less $$$ but the sound would not be nearly as nice , in fact , what would be the piont of making something that can be had so easily everywhere else?

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emmisions compliant)

What size piping are you planning on using?

Are you also going to use resonated exhaust tips?

The piping is 2.25 and 2.5 after mufflers , with 4" tips . The tips are not resonated , it is unnecessary.

here are some pics

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emmisions compliant)

it does sound good- how loud is it 'in person' on the quiet/loud layman scale?
(price/weight)

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emmisions compliant)

a tad more louder would be great

any estimate on price/weight?

Please remember , this is a STOCK car , headers and test pipes will really wake this thing up , the sound is very nice and smooth .

Pricing will be released next week , I am still figuring things out , I spent all my time designing / building this thing!!!

The sound is very liveable , mellow if you drive normal , aggressive if you punch it .

I will weigh it on monday!

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emmisions compliant)

This probably won't make much difference in heat , I have tried it all dferent ways , you would need to move them 6" to make a diference , not 1" .

They are nowhere near the trunk floor , there is a large air gap , maybe the pics are deceiving?

The mufflers are also as far to the rear as possible , making the heat less likely to radiate into the trunk .

sounds pretty good! but...I like mine better ha

Well considering I built both , it's hard for me to choose!

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emmisions compliant)

Sounds good and looks nice. But can't you turn the muffler's horizontal so that it doesn't get so close to the trunk floor? Just to keep the trunk cooler...

can you take a picture of it from the side? that should clear up the angle of the mufflers.

the exhuast looks great! any chance of making it with quad tips?

it looks like the two piece exhuast is only connected with the vband in the middle. will additional support be helpful? to keep the vband having any chance of cracking from stress and such. (sorry if im being nosy lol)

waiting on the price :)
