Best lease deal so far?

I've searching for the "right one" and the right price for about a month now, but after some back and forth with the dealership, picked her up last night! Now, I'm just super excited to have her in my garage! It's Casino White w/ Red and with all the C/F goodies!

MSRP is $201,500, vehicle selling price is $186,000 (Dealership gave me a discount of -$15,500.00) and with the Acura's Incentive of $30k, walked away a winner at $156,000!

If anyone in the NorCal Area is interested in purchasing one, here's what's left in the area:

Acura of Concord has (1) Black on Ebony, with all C/F Goodies.
Autonation Stevens Creek Acura has (1) Black on Red, with all C/F Goodies.
Fremont Acura has (1), 130R White on Ebony, Expose car with 377 miles on the Odometer, but unsure of options.
Acura of Pleasanton has (1), but unsure of color and options.
Los Gatos Acura has (1), Valencia Red on Saddle, but unsure of options.
Niello Acura of Roseville has (1), Curva Red on Ebony, but unsure of options.

Weather here is terrible today with rain and wind, so I'll post pics later.
Fremont's is not an exposure car.
Cf interior
tech package
power seats w/alcantara
alcantara headliner

Los Gatos' at minimum has the optional polished wheels, not sure about the rest.
Pleasanton is 130R/Ebony.
Hansel shows a Curva/Saddle.

They said it's not an exposure car, but in theory it is due to the mileage on it. They've used it to for car shows, cars & coffee, etc.

Congrats on the new NSX! I saw it in dealer showroom floor a couple of weeks back. It definitely has the perfect color combo.

I never inquired on the price as I thought that they wouldn't discount much due to them being in the heart of Silicon Valley. What a surprise. Perhaps the car has been sitting for a while, so they may have given in and given you a great deal. Congrats again!

Could just mean they didn't register car with Acura as an "exposure" NSX, hence no additional $20K, just a used NSX...JM2C...I could be wrong...

I was informed acura has extended the offer of the up to 30k deal for cars until end of january for 2017 model.

That's great and all, but eventually they'll run low on supplies aka no big discounts, only 200k cars will be left and when dealers realize they have 2 more months to sell.. they might not move hard on the sale...

IMO:
57-62k off will be needed to move these 200-207 msrp cars
I think a few dealerships are still receiving 2017 cars

Ditto that...Heard from a dealer that 2017 production has ended, and that any new order would be a 2018 starting production in January.

Not quite, I am headed to the factory next week to watch my '17 get built on 12/5. It might be one of the last US market '17s off the line but they have a few more weeks left after that of building overseas market 17s before switching to 18s I believe.

Thanks for the clarification...I actually meant to say that "orders for 2017 production has ended". That is, you can't place a build order for a 2017.

In any case, lucky you...That is quite a privilege for you to watch your own car being built.

make sure you remind them how important repricing the car was to sell....

Heh, I'm actually one of the seven people on earth (noted automotive journalist Matt Farah being another) that thinks the car is worth MSRP*.

People love to compare base prices but I highly doubt most McLaren 570s and 911 Turbo S are going for under $200k if you look at what's in dealer inventory in terms of option level. At least where I live nobody buys the 911 Turbo non-S because it's a status item and why get the less-obnoxiously-fast one?

Comps for me are high-option 911 GTS and maybe low-option R8/Huracan, and in that realm I will take the NSX at MSRP every time because I see 400 911s a day and they all look the same, a Huracan will beat you up, and every gen of R8 has had some kind of fairly serious "problem" that shows up after ~25k miles or so (carbon buildup, mag ride issues, etc etc etc). Plus Acura is a brand whose values I actually identify with as a tech/engineer type and the only NSX-related childhood dream my '96 was unable to fulfill was picking it up brand new from the dealership and putting the first miles on it.

(* that is not to say that I am paying MSRP for my '17, but I was willing to accept a much smaller discount than some other folks appear to be getting in service of ordering my exact preferred spec)

I understand your sentiment...but value is by its nature subjective.....sales and the price point at which inventory is drawn down are much more telling.Have fun at the plant!

I think the point I heard Matt F make on his podcast which I wholeheartedly agree with is that there never really should have been "inventory" in the first place - people are willing to pay near MSRP for the experience of spec'ing their exact car and then traveling to the factory to participate in its construction (+ drive the top secret test track and whatever else). Dealers should never have ordered cars they didn't have a specific customer waiting for (except maybe one for test drive/showroom candy/other marketing purpose), but felt pressure to do so to avoid losing future allocations.

In my view if there is punishable hubris on Acura's part it is not in the base MSRP of the car itself (which aligns fantastically with the value it provides), but in the pricing of some of the options, and in the pressure placed on dealers to order cars (especially high-option cars early on) just so that they might capture future allocations. Of course they are paying some penance for this now in the form of the AFS incentive which, along with the exposure program amounts to a dealer bailout.

I concur.....makes perfect sense...lets see how active the plant is next year.

Marcus, can you walk us through that deal? I'm assuming it's something like this...

MSRP $165,000
Dealer discount: $7,500 (4.5% off of sticker)
Exposure discount: $0 (not an exposure car)
Financing incentive: $30k payment assistance from Acura Finance
Taxable amount: $157,500
Net: $127,500 + tax

Thanks!

Yes, that is exactly correct.
