Michigan check-in & spotting by blodi pt.2

Ben (9) and Chris (me, 39) are coming. Another 600 miles on 160K shouldn't hurt. Just hope I can keep up with Cody on the drive down. And no dissing my 20's, unless its to my face, someday I'll get a job that pays in just more than thank you's and I can buy lighter wheels.

Hi all! I'm new here, but was invited over by Tim & Dennis along with Al, both whom I've had the pleasure to meet with in the past. I'd certainly like to make it out to such an awesome meet coming up on Sunday. I'll be in a MY 04 NFR s2000.
I certainly look forward to seeing a couple of familiar people and meeting some new ones. If anyone has car care questions out there, I'd certainly have no problem helping to answer them as that is my area of expertise.

Please note that Middlebelt Road is closed between 12 and 13 mile. Ryan I'll let you let people know who are planning on going to your place the details to get there. massive sinkhole has closed the road and i do not see it re-opened by Sunday but not exactly sure where the break is.

Thanks for the info! If you don't mind, I might try to meet up with you good fellows and follow you on over. I think Jacob plans on coming on out as well in his M3.

Before I go an post and invite just anyone, how do you guys feel about having some other S2000 owners coming out? If noone minds, I'll post up some information with some local s2k owners (not a lot of us around). I believe it's been quite awhile since there was a good Honda meet anywhere of NSX+S2000 owners getting together. Of course I don't want to water down this event.

I might see if one of the photographers I know is interested in coming out as well. Who doesn't like professional grade shots of their beautiful ride? :)

Marc,
Spread the word, can never have enough Hondas. Glad you joined Prime and looking forward to seeing you Sunday!

Sorry it took so long - none of our emails were allowed - not even the business address!
Oh well - I'm here now and hopefully I can be of some assistance if anyone has questions. I'll certainly see you guys soon!

All -- just saw Neal's PM regarding weather. I too noticed that possibility of some rain on Sunday. Given my earlier posted confession about driving my /94 through a short hailstorm, a bit of drizzle isn't going to keep me from attending. Hope to see you all on Sunday.

Looks to be mostly dry all day according to the latest forecast I saw. I know 1 NSX that will not be there if there are clouds around.

The LBBP has been rained on before and full of mud, John can attest to that since we chased him most of that muddy day. But it is just dirt it washes off.

What kind of panty-waisted sissy boy would miss something like this with a few clouds in the sky? I implore everyone to man up and show up.

I dunno! I would hate to see you get those HRE's dirty!!!

That LBBP is still looking amazing since the last time I saw it on Woodward.

Some of us are also S2000 owners, and it would be nice to have Kamron attend something he didn't first have to organize (the S2K wine tasting event was fantastic.)
We may run into favored parking limitations at both Baker's and at CJ's, so as long as that's not a problem for folks (flexibility is key) then I say let's have some fun with it

....I think I got everyone?

As Tim pointed out, if you are coming to my house first, Middlebelt is closed between 12 and 13 mile....not sure if it will be open by Sunday, but they are working hard on it. If you come from the south via 12 mile or middlebelt, you can proceed up middlebelt past the road closed signs, About half a mile up you can turn onto Wellington road on the left. This takes you into the sub...just turn right onto sugarspring and then left onto highmeadow.
Or you can turn onto Alycekay st off 12 mile west of middlebelt. Take that up and follow it as it turns into highmeadow. Then at the T intersection highmeadow jogs to the south.
Hope that helps. Otherwise, I'm sure many have gps/google maps and can figure it out. :biggrin

My driveway might hold about 8 cars.....luckily the house next to us is newly purchased and still empty, so hopefully they won't decide to show up for that hour or so Sunday.

*UPDATE* just read online the road will still be closed sunday, looks like its going to be closed for a couple weeks. So use one of the alternative routes above.

Just want to say thanks to Neal too here, he has really been on the ball and pulled this thing together!

*Quick question about parking @ bakers. I assume we are going to park in the right hand side lot where we usually park??? I plan on being there around 2:30........Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Good question. As I understand it, Neal got us reserved parking in the very back lot by the offices. For those unfamiliar with Bakers, when you pull in, just ask for the NSX club parking. It should be all the way straight to the back.

OK, here is a cheesy photo of the 'specials' menu for CJ's at the end of our meet & drive.
They have many other excellent food items too, so this is just to whet your collective whistles

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday!
Judi

What an awesome group of cars we have lined up! I'm exited! I got an extra battery for my camera, so I'll be able to take plenty of footage for the cruise.

Chris

I assume since I'm not driving an NSX I will just park somewhere else, or should I still park near you guys? My beat up white GMC Sierra development truck might stick out haha. I have driven by Bakers, but have never been there during a show so I don't know if they have "general" parking during the show.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Since Baker's is going to be basically mayhem on Sunday (a downtown Milford car show will end up there even before our contingent arrives) just park wherever you can and hook up with our crew.
Like Ryan said, Neal has arranged a somewhat common place for us to park with Chris Baker (a 2nd generation car guy to the bone) so when you arrive on the scene just tell him you're with the NSX Club and follow the directions from there.

This gig is going to rock

This SUNDAY NSX get-together and FINAL -

Weather for Sunday is 65 and overcast.
Rain out number, or misc questions number, call Neal cell 734-718-7463.

If truly sh-tty, rain out info will be posted here in this thread by 11 AM at the latest! Rain-out date fixed for Sunday, October 17th.

HERE WE GO:

1 PM Pre-meeting and latest NSX mod blab fest at Ryan’s new home in Farmington Hills, MI. Due to privacy concerns, please send a private message (pm) to Ryan for address and directions, at Prime user name blodi

NOTE: Due to sinkhole on Middlebelt between 12 and 13 Mile Roads, pls pay attention to Ryan's directions above ^^^^

2 PM Short drive to meeting place for any other cars and participants – meet promptly at 2 PM in parking lot of Roosevelt’s Pub, northwest corner of Orchard Lake Road and Twelve Mile Road, Farmington Hills. Exit I-696 at Orchard Lake Road and proceed north, turning left (west) onto Twelve Mile and immediate right into parking lot. In Orchard-12 Plaza, next to Einstein’s, and behind Shell station.

215 PM Depart from parking lot for group drive out I-96 and north on Milford Road to Baker’s.

245 – 400 PM Enjoy Baker’s Sunday Cruise-In. There is a car parts swap meet going on in the south parking area this particular Sunday, so we may have to park in the rear (east) lot to cluster our aluminum.

NOTE: Enter and proceed up the "Cruiser's Chute." Say Hello and Thanks to our host, Chris Baker. If all goes as planned, tell him NSX car club and maybe he'll have 20 pkg spaces in the east office building parking area set aside for us. There is LOTS going on this Sunday there, so be flexible.

4 – 415 PM Driver's briefing/distribute maps for drive. Please return to our parking cluster promptly at 4 PM for this.

415 PM Depart Baker’s for drive, to proceed south through South Lyon, west to Whitmore Lake, south to northern edge of Ann Arbor, then east and south to Plymouth Twp, MI. As many curves as we can find, and even a couple of hills!

~ 515 PM Arrive at CJ's Brewery and Restaurant at Compuware Arena, Beck Road just north of M-14 freeway. The bridge parking area should be set aside for our cars. We'd like to get the Michigan NSX's parked there together. I have a special parking place in mind for a certain P Carrera GT.

Cannot wait.
