My friend rear ended an SUV with his car and he's selling it to me cheap so I can fix it up and get it on the road again. It drives fine according to him, but I just don't feel like driving it across the country.
Does anyone have any experience with shipping cars? I've gotten quotes, but all...
Honcho that's a very good write up and discussion spark.
As I do more and more research on the NSX, I'm wondering if it's the right car for me to get a few years down the road just because of how much it costs to maintain if you auto-x, track, etc. I still have yet to drive one, and thankfully...
You can do the same kind of repair with ployurethane. This type of weather stripping degradation happens all the time to my project car. A lot of guys use SikaFlex (not sure which model) or other type of marine poly to make the repair. If you cover up the surrounding areas with Glad wrap...
When I first heard of GT Spec, for my Mazdaspeed Protege, the bars were all orange. Fast forward a handful of years and the bars were all a nice blue, kind of like Laguna Blue. Now they are the weird color you get now. I think they just buy surplus paint when they run out and they just get...
Oooo, you're right. Just checked out their web site and man, that color does look pretty nasty in some of the photos. Why can't they just make their bars a nice neutral color like black?
Dark Charcoal, paint code NH-629M?
Looks awesome. How did you get the GT Spec bars in that dark gray? I thought they only came in whatever color they were using at the time (orange, blue, etc)?
I just cried a little. Low ball the hell out of the guy. He'll say no, but if he's motivated to sell the thing you can work him to a price that's reasonable, then you can have fun restoring it.
Since I'm ignorant, what's PPI?
What route do you guys plan on taking? Buffalo isn't too far from me and depending on when you're going I could swing by and meet everyone and get closer look at the NSX since I've never seen one up close.
The NSX always puzzled me why it never showed up to events and why no one ran one nationally. Based on pure numbers it should be able to do just fine and even win. S2000 is down on power, has no torque, 200lbs less, and has better gearing for short courses. The Solstice GXP Z0K has the same...
It's not even that cut and dry. My Mazdaspeed Protege has been repaired four times now and the only item that shows up on CarFax is the first repair which was a parking lot ding with the previous owner. All of my incidents went through insurance and none of them show up on CarFax.
So like other cars it will be course dependent. We used to be able to run at Seneca Army Depot here locally, which we could run more open courses and the S2000s would be shifting into 3rd quite often. My Mazdaspeed was never fast enough to get out of 2nd gear, but I can sympathize with being...
Thanks guys. I'm no noob to autocross as I trophied at nationals two years ago in my Mazdaspeed Protege and I've been doing it since 2000. I'm also not a native Rochesterian, although I have now lived here longer than any other place (Milwaukee, Colorado Springs, San Jose).
Thanks to everyone...
