Need good NSX / Acura mechanic in Sacramento / Stockton.

I've had great experience with Shad also and would (&have) driven from San Francisco for his services.

Help needed to check a car in Redwood City, CA area and suggestions for PPI

I'll add my 2 cents. I purchased my NSX from consignment in Redwood City and they had no problem with me driving it to Don at hilltop for PPI. I felt like Don did a good job on the PPI and gave me a very thorough report. Jim Russell was also fantastic and local, but is retired. I had Jim...

    Window Switch Thingy

I'm on a mission bumping old threads today... although I seem to have a perfectly functioning window regulator (knock wood) the switch cap on my driver's side window is also MIA. The prices for the whole new switch these days are comical. Assuming that the vent panel is still snug enough to...

Another Center Cap Thread (Stock 94 Wheels)

Hi, To add to the other "center cap" threads ... I've done a bit of searching and am curious does anyone know where to get center caps for stock '94 wheels? My front center caps dropped right out of my wheels as soon as I pulled into the bay at the end of a track day. Lesson learned - take...

How many owners have crashed their NSX by sliding the rear end out???

Non compliance bushings and toelinks Bumping an ancient thread ... I've got about 7 HPDEs under my belt, driving very carefully and slowly, and only spun once so far: in the rain at turn 2 of Infineon/Sonoma raceway I lifted ever so slightly catching slower traffic and it went around 360 and...

    Where is Shad?

Very much so! I was just there a couple of days ago, for the first time, and he's awesome. New address in Sacramento: http://www.drivingambition.us/SearchResults.asp?Cat=37

Thinking about tracking - have some questions

    1. Do it!! 2. If you're in the SF Bay Area, I'd second the recommendation on Hooked on Driving. They're a good club, relatively affordable, you get an instructor, and you'll be able to drive Sonoma, Laguna Seca, Thunderhill and others. Also a friendly community of other drivers there to...

    Sightings.

Yep! I think I would have been stuck in crawling traffic right about then at that time. I was trying to leave early to get up to Thunderhill to drive the 5-Mile the following day...

Is the NSX a good used car anymore?

I was making essentially the same decision a year back and opted for the NSX - in the full knowledge I would be cautiously running 7/10s or less in beginner and intermediate groups only, tracking it only about 5-6 times a year, and not modifying the car in any way. I've come to terms with...

    Acura of Oakland Experiences?

Agreed - and getting advice from Prime is great in helping me learn what's appropriate and needed for my situation, no knock against Dan, who is fantastic. It seems like people lean one way or the other based on personal experiences and preferences, and there's not a lot of data for me to go...

    Acura of Oakland Experiences?

Hm, do you think any of these will pose a problem for track driving? Or should I just let it be until the next change?

    Sightings.

I saw a green NSX for the first time ever today ... at Costco. That's bravery! :)

    Acura of Oakland Experiences?

Just an oil change, filter, general inspection, and I'll be going back later for pads. A few interesting things I learned - he recommends regular over synthetic oil (b/c synthetic offers no benefit in this engine), recommends overfilling by a half quart (to account for oil burning off), and...

Rear brake pads wear out faster then front?

Seems like the sensible thing to do would be to replace all 4 at once - I actually already bought a set of front and rear, but thought I could save some $$$ (i.e. cheap out) by letting the stock rears wear down first. However, on reflection maybe brakes aren't the right place to be saving a few...

    Acura of Oakland Experiences?

I ended up going with TLS in San Jose. Definitely worth the drive, Dan has a great shop and great customer service, let me in the shop and explained everything he was doing. Can't really get that at any dealer.
