Having owned a F355 and NSX, IMO it's almost impossible to compare the two. They are two completely different animals. To me the Ferrari is an exotic, with exotic looks and exotic sounds and exotic prices to maintain. The word that comes to my mind when it comes to the NSX is competent. If you...
I did replace them about 6 years ago with ones that fit 90 to 95 4 dr Legends as Shawn mentioned. They fit fine and those are the part numbers I found on line from an Acura dealer.
Thanks for the updates. Interesting read from Post #1 . Also I assume you meant DOT 5.1 brake fluid? DOT 5 is a silicone based and does not absorb water and will not work well with ABS pumps.
LOL, that's funny. I still think the F355 is one of the best looking Ferrari's put into production. I went from a NSX which was bulletproof to the Ferrari. I thought I would have to take out a second on my house after 5-6 months of ownership. Cracked exhaust manifolds, timing belt, WP, valve...
The F348 and 355's are a nightmare with regards to maintenance. The 360 and later V8's were much better in design with regards to maintenance. Having owned a F355, I can tell you the cost for a timing belt change is more like 3 to 4 times the cost of a NSX. They are a great car to drive when...
Honda fuel injectors are also known to be noisy. Fuel injectors by their design create a "ticking" sound and this was a common complaint among customers while I was at a Honda and Acura dealership. Sometimes cleaning out the fuel rail lessens the noise or replacing the noisy injector. This is...
Well for what it's worth, American Honda does have data on all types of failures including timing belts. My brother has been a director of service communications for them for close to 30 years. As previously mentioned, I have witnessed at least 3 timing belt failures on the NSX while working...
Having run a service department at an Acura dealership in So. CA during the late '90's and early 2000's, I have seen timing belt failures fail and contrary to a previous post, they do in fact break (snap) and it is an ugly picture as this is high interference motor. If recall correctly I did...
The assist spring is for keeping proper pedal play (1-7 mm) which is part of the total free play and as you mentioned to keep pressure against switch A. The spring is normally not removed when adjusting free play. Using a 90 degree needle nosed pliers will help getting the spring back in.
