    Coolant Gauge Got Hot Momentarily...

I've done it a bunch of times on my 1995 NSX. There are two bleed points up front and two in the engine compartment, and I never had to remove anything to get to them.

    Coolant Gauge Got Hot Momentarily...

I have always used Honda premixed coolant in my NA1. It's not NSX-specific though--you can get it at Honda dealers (same part number).

    Coolant Gauge Got Hot Momentarily...

Considering how important coolant is and how it might need attention while on the road and not near a dealer, it would be nice if the basic information were given to all owners. My first mid-engine car (1985 Toyota MR2) had coolant bleeding instructions in the owner's manual that came with the car.

Where are all the Production deliveries ??

If it's any consolation, it's not just 2nd gen owners who get to experience this. I've been to a couple Acura dealers where the service advisor was clueless about my NA1.

    NC1 NSX Weight Reduction Thread

There's a lot of misconception on the effect of rotating mass on acceleration. If you can post an equivalent (e.g., 50 pounds in the rotors is equivalent to x pounds of non-rotating mass), that tells the reader more than saying it's 'significant'. If you understand the physics, it's easy to...

So really... What are your choices in the NC1 price range?

Thanks for this! It helped me find the Wikipedia page on car model changes at https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/モデルチェンジ (which I read via Google translate).

So really... What are your choices in the NC1 price range?

Fuel cells aren't efficient enough yet. Both ends of the process (generating hydrogen, and getting energy out of it with a fuel cell) are inefficient. About 30% of the energy put into making the hydrogen ends up powering the car and 70% is wasted. Research may improve that but there isn't...

How can we improve the Second Generation NSX forum

This site should use HTTPS. It's been good practice for some time on the web; to not support it in 2021 is embarrassing. My personal web sites have HTTPS and I'm on shared hosting that doesn't cost a lot.

The attachment link doesn't work for me. Logged out and back in, tried another browser, still no. Is anyone else having trouble with this?

How can we improve the Second Generation NSX forum

In 2016, I got a PM here on Prime with the title "New Owners Forum" asking me if I had the new NSX on order. Unstated (but, I think, clear enough) was the question of what I was doing in a forum for a car I'm not buying. I responded by politely saying I didn't have a second-gen NSX on order...

Changes for the 2021 NSX, if so what?

docjohn was responding to a post in this thread from August 2019 that said "A V8 is coming for 2021. Mark this post." It's been deleted. Anyone remember who posted it? I just saved the one line of text, not the full posting.

    Thoughts on this?

Welcome to the forums GWPorsche! If you want Nord Gray Metallic, consider that it might still be an option for a new car. Honda has made at least one NSX in Nord Gray on special order even after the color was officially discontinued, although I don't know if they still will.

    NSX NC1 Interior Discussion

I welcome everyone's opinions here. Were I a manufacturer I'd be interested in the opinions of those who bought my cars and also the opinions of those who considered my cars but bought someone else's instead. You can learn from both.

Recalls, maintenance costs and issues summary

Yes the original schedule (1991 NSX) was 15,000mi for valve clearance. Acura relaxed that after a while (the 1995 service manual said every 30,000 miles). It was not an engine-out service. I don't think Acura ever said to change the NA1 or NA2 timing belt every 60,000 miles. Even in 1991 the...

Interesting Article Comparing 1st Gen to 2nd Gen NSX

He says "When the 1991 model debuted, there were a litany of complaints that sound eerily familiar to the protesting about today’s car" and he quotes several reviews. Two of the reviews are from 1994, one is from 1996, and one is from 2002: these are not complaints from "when the 1991 model...

    2017 NSX Auction Listing, 19UNC1B02HY000516

That's normal. The 516 is a serial number for production for the US market and 714 is for the whole world. Also, the serial number in the VIN resets every model year, the engine cover number doesn't.

What Color NSX Would You Like to See?

The Toyota electric blue was a lot brighter than Nouvelle Blue Pearl and it was metallic rather than pearl. I like both although they're quite different.

What Color NSX Would You Like to See?

Toyota offered a striking metallic blue ('electric blue') in the first model year of the MR2 (1985 in the USA). I haven't seen anything quite like it since. I would've preferred that over the new Long Beach Blue Pearl.

    More V6 supercars

The Maserati MC20 uses pre-combustion chambers, as did Honda CVCC engines in the late 1970s. It has a V6 with variable valve timing and all body colors come with a black roof, as did... well, you know.
